would it be possible to set aside a certain frequency as a coms radio . For example you get to within radio range of your base and you tune in to recieve docking information or something . Just a suggestion .

Most definitely. Not only could you do that, you could have a different frequency for each base just powerful enough to encompass the immediate area...perhaps that is what you are suggesting. It would require some voice recording, but would be doable. You could also simulate coast watchers with low power radios only operating for a short period of time and all sorts of things that would require new voice recordings.

In \Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Sound\Radio

You have a radio.ini file. In that file you have

Quote:

[GENERAL]
RadioRealism=Yes
StartCh=1

[CHANNEL]
Name=Washington
Folder=Washington
Freq=22
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:38.53,-77.02:100000
Freq goes from 1 to ...actually I'm not sure how high the frequency goes, but I know I've seen up to 200 at least.

The antenna part, as described in earlier post is indeed:

date of operation 01.01.1930-01.01.2000
Latitude and longitude 38.53, -77.02
and power 100000 (experimenting here is needed to see what kind of range this is. It's either just sort of a made up number with 100,000 as it's likely ceiling or possibly the range in kilometers making 100,000 a bit overkill.

So in order to add a radio station, I added

Quote:

[CHANNEL]
Name=Los Angeles
Folder=Los Angeles
Freq=38
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:34.05,-118.22:100000
Then you add a folder named whatever you named it under [channel] in that directory. Within that folder you put a folder named events and optionally Radio_track.wav which will be what is played when no broadcast is being made. Then within the events folder, create a file called events.ini. All that one has is

Quote:

[EVENT]
StartDate=10.12.1941
StartTime=20.00.00
MediaFile=1941-12-072230NBCRSherlockHolmes.mp3
Then just edit startdate and time to what you want, plop the media file into that directory and you are good to go.

Ok, the entertainment radio is done more or less. I'll create a new thread with a WIP tag for now until I can test it some and get it uploaded somewhere.
