Article was an entertaining and apolitical piece up till then, unfortunately this idiotic drivel spoiled it and pretty much showed the entire purposes of it was to make a stab at the majority Hollywood that support the Democrats and not the GOP - oh boo hoo for you :*(

The tone of this thread was respectful and non-inflamatory to the individual until then. Unfortunately, labeling others' comments as idiotic drivel spoiled it, and pretty much showed the entire puropose of it was to poke a finger in the proverbial chest of another member.

Don't do that.

You catch on fast, props.

Ehh, tough. If they're his personal thoughts, which considering the font is different to the first thing he said so I don't believe they are, it makes no difference to whether he was copying & pasting or not. You post it, it's fair game.

I do not believe that you understand me. By engaging in a personal attack on this forum, you are in violation of the SubSim.com user agreement. Continuance in this regard will result in disciplinary action. Here are some examples of what to do, and what not to do:

Acceptable:

The tone of this post seems to serve a political agenda.

Not acceptable:

Your post is garbage.

There you have it. Nothing tough about it.

Thanks,
The Management

That's a personal attack? Gee whiz, there's sensitivity to criticism and then there's throwing your toys out of the pram.

Yes, calling someone's speech 'idiotic drivel' is a personal attack. If you do not like the idea behind the post, you may go after that as you like, but do not assail the individual. This is the rule on SubSim, and has been the rule for years. This is a private forum, and one where civility rules. If you do not like it, there is a proverbial door, but you'll play by the guidelines while here.

This is the last I have to say on this matter. Back to the discussion

Nah, I'd say it's merely calling their post - which for the record I'm still not entirely sure was their own comments - for what it is. Honestly couldn't care less about 'attacking' an individual.

And just in case the Cluetrain hasn't pulled in yet, the point of calling "a piece" rather clearly shows I assumed that it was merely a repetition of something the poster saw elsewhere. Context and intention is everything.

Two things:

1. Re James Stewart & John Wayne. Did you know that there are two airports in the Metro LA area named for John Wayne & none named for Jimmy Stewart?

2. Let's add British actor Christopher Lee, who served in the British S.O.E.(Special Operations Executive) of the Foreign Office. Once, during an interview many years later, the interviewer was asking questions about Lee's wartime service when the following exchange occured:

Lee to interviewer: "Can you keep a secret?"

Intervewer to Lee: "Yes I can."

Lee to interviewer: "Well, so can I."
