Well, I got my VIIC/42 and as soon as the game started I was informed that my base was changed to Bergon. Does that mean when I return home after the mission I should go to Bergon instead of St. Nazaire?

Also, as soon as the game started and I had not moved the sub, I was told the Sonar was destroyed. How could this happen?

Oh, St. Nazaire does have sub pens in my game. Would that have anything to do with it?

The camo worked fine, it was there.

What year are you playing? There is a possibility that the base did change and once you finish the patrol you will have to relocate into the new base.

That's a stock bug. Your sonar is fine and fully operational.

Glad to hear that mate. Now go out there and sink some ships:up:

As soon as I changed to the VIIC/42, I made the following upgrades: engine to a MAN Buchigebbase; batteries to AFM 33 MAL 800; sonar to SU-Apparat Hibelung; radar to FuMO-64 and radar warning system FuMB-26.

That reduced my renown quite a bit, :)

Rob.

The year is July 1944.
I hope you are correct about the sonar.

Rob

P.S. have just left the pens and ready for action.

Are you using the late war radar and antena mod in GWX? I think that if you're using some kind of radars and detectors you need to enable it. Unfortunatelly I don't remember which radar has the issue. Have a look at the manual about this.

Actually Mel, I'm finishing off the patrols I started using SH3, heavily modded.

Since I have changed to a VIIC/42 now, should I still call it the Wolf in my movies.
My last part of my patrol in June 1944 has been posted under the "There should be a video whatever"

As soon as I finish the war using SH3, I will go back to GWX and install the upgrade and then go from there. Question, will I have to change to a VIIC/42 again under GWX?

Sorry about that Rob. I thought you were playing GWX that's why I asked. I haven't seen the video yet but I will have a look at it tonight.

Good Luck and Good Shooting:up:

In GWX I am still in 1939. I have to upgrade to the latest GWX upgrade.
See my questions about that above in my last post.

This might sound stupid, but how do I enable the sonar and radar?

Actually it's not stupid at all. The short answer is that I have no idea. The longer one is speculation. Are you using any particular fatigue model? If I remember correctly the 24hours one is causing these kind of problems. Another solution is to save and load again. Continue your mission, and once you're about 300Km away from land save the game (you must be surfaced). After that exit SH3 and reload your ave game. See if you get the same message again about the radar and sonar.

Yes there is no problem at all with VIIC/42 in GWX. Check page 60 of the manual to see the available bases and boats. VIIC/42 is one of them.

Hi Mel. I don't think I answered all your questions. I'm finishing my career in the stock SH3 (modded) and it is now July 1944.

When I end the war in SH3 I will go back to GWX and upgrade it to 1.2 and the year will be 1939.

Any other questions, please ask.

You have been a great help.

Thanks for all your help Mel. Greatly appreciated. Yes, I will go out there again with the VIIC/42, fully upgraded and sink as much as I can without getting killed.

Okay i read in another thread you mention of a patrol you were in 1944 being depth charged and need advice how to get as far away as possible :D
If this is the same campaign your in, i would save my renown and buy an XXI. I've never managed to get to 1944 ive always died around mid 1943 and usually by aircraft attack:damn:

But im sure the XXI is available in 1944 in Bergen?:hmm:
