Bay of Biscay

Pretty bad from Summer of 1942 onward.

Hellish after May 1943.

I almost run out of battery power every time I cross the bay.

One time I was attacked 10 minutes after I surfaced for 3 days.

My batteries were almost completely drained when I finally broke out into the Atlantic.

I use x512 and x1024 TC.

I use a type IX and to be honest it's really annoying how long these take to submerge when under attack. tried running "decks awash" which is better and safer, but it costs you so much more fuel.

Be happy you've not seen any yet, because when you do...........

I'd now like to add that after two more airstrikes I'm down to 82% Hull integrity:cry:

High Voltage 02-21-07 07:43 PM

along these lines, I know you have to watch your batteries, but always has me worried is the buildup of CO2... How far do you let the needle go before surfacing, and what do you figure is max CO2? I'm not interested in finding out firsthand..:nope::nope:

id say when it hits the red mark. i think the yellow mark is just there to warn you that it would be best to surface asap

Where are the Bloody Planes???

I know where...

Their in the bloody mediterranean! First patrol, and ive alrady come to the conclusion its better to stay surfaced during the day, and submerged at night :damn:

i thought that would be the other way around Ducimus??????

I think he means that being surfaced by day you have earlier warning than when they come at you at night...;)

emtmedic005 02-22-07 09:40 AM

That makes alot more sense, cause during the day time you can see the planes before they r on time of u, but at night its very hard to spot planes until they turn the lights on and bomb u

In GWX I don't mess with airplanes--Alaaarm and down we go. Been attacked by Hurricanes, Spifires, Ansons, PBYs. Haven't seen Swordfish. Was attacked once by 8 4engine seaplanes. You would have thought I was a floating Berlin.

Thank you very much, I avoid airplanes.

GWX = dive to avoid planes unless you're feeling lucky.
