sleichfahrt!:rotfl:
That's a funny German word. |
Try this [it's not normal procedure tho] ..
I got bashed real bad and ended up with no flak gun and no deck gun and batteries kaput so snucked up to one of the bad guys and surfaced right next to him .. he couldn't blow me out of the water as I was too close to him, then .. the other bad guy started blasting away and blowing up the other bad guy [the British Bernard ended up getting thrown onto our deck but that's another story]. Now, you've got one bad guy left .. did I mention that your periscopes are cream crackered ? Anyway, you stick on his tail and once you've finally managed to get his rear end in your UZO, you fire off an eel then pray then BANG ! Limp Home. |

Now I never go flank when the enemy is near me. I go as deep as possible (200m+) and run silently at 2knts. Slow but much more effective. ________ Tiffalicious |
Cackle at the inaccuracy of the Russian DE's Side Launched Depth Charges?
Then again, I've only done a Black Sea Campaign, and she is a deep pond... and I a slippery little Type IID. I've only been Pinged once in 3 patrols. |

The only way to evade the enemy is to go deep and in silent runnig. You can try to go ahead flank but you should try it only after you release the bold decoy (later in the war) or when you're in the baffles of the DD. Obviously by going fast you can be picked up but in those particular cases you can actually get away. It's too difficult and too risky if you ask me though
