NEVER download those softwares named "Generic virus check" or something similiar

Most of them are VIRUSES & I nearly got my computer screwed up when I tried to use one

You may be infected by a virus, you may try

(A) Online scan (as many antivirus companies provides these services. Try BitDefender. Cool)

(B) Download a free antivirus program. AVG antivirus (100% free) can be obtained from its website, and provide you an everyday update

(C) Reinstall windows (backup your data first) and kill all existing viruses

If you are having problems with this thread, then close it!!!
Why rehash this over and over again. As soon as a thread is started mentioning anything that you are refering to, then close it and say why.

I once made the mistake of downloading one of those generic virus protections. Big mistake. Something called WinAntiVirus or similar, can't remember. Had a devil of a time getting rid of it and then I bought Spyware Doctor. Superb. Cleans all malware, adware and spyware. I highly recommend it.

I think the major reason why they harp on it is keep the legal integrity of subsim intact, to keep in good standings with SH developers, and to set an example. But in a way its a little silly cause if i were a to make a wild guess, i'd guess that 90% of everyone here uses the unmentionable regardless. :roll:

Its gotta be Starforce because this error occured during the disc 'I'm not doing anything illegal' scan before the actual program started loading. It stopped the process then and there with a 'SH3.exe has been modified' error! Must of zapped some of that sh$t they embed in the registry! Lesson learned: Do my homework when it comes to antivirus software and stop load Britney Spears soft porn videos! :o
