Marhkimov makes two versions of his enviroment mod ,light and dark. i have light version installed over Rub.144 and i found that is perfect for me  , also i tweaked a bit gamma correction aand a red/blue bulb in my room. is nice to know that it works over GWX  . i know that in real world is really hard to see something in the atlantic waters but itīs a game /simulator and i want to see something. also with tdc, map ,and some views your lost eyes adaptation. |

from readme: .... DATA/ENV/*.DAT Ever say to your self something like, "It's dark as crap at night and i cant squat, much less the watch officer!" This fixes that. .... so download his mod and use the data\env files...you don't need anything else D/L LINK: http://www.ducimus.net/sh3/release/R...to_Taste_V4.7z I know that for some LCD users could be enough to play a bit with the color/bright/contrast/gama settings but for my dark CRT where black is really black as ... (don't know what's the most black thing) the only way is to use lighter sky textures.... and I'm not cheating at all because when overcast or raining the light from sky/stars/moon is gone so I don't see almost anything... well I'm able to see my sub In fact everybody can adjust the env colors on his own, use the pack3d and unpack the skycolor*.dat file, edit the extracted *.tga file a repack back... simple |
Yes! A red bulb in computer room would help a lot. On those overcast, dark nights, Iturn the light off when dodging traffic. The vis in GWX is similar to the real thing under these conditions.

I have good samsung CRT and ati x1900xtx and GWX is dark too much i think. In clear night with moon i cant see anything. All is black around me with white dots as stars. Don't tell me that it is like in real life.
