I can tell you guys one thing when you're unsure of if there are someone closing or you just whant to check for sound contacts, dive to periscope deph and ask you sonar man, for contacts,

If he tells you yes you have a hunt, if no, go surface again and ride the waves for a wile...

Do that from time to time, cause it's the real thing on those days...

This Mod is to get you guys close to reality as possible,
and i can asure you that is very Refined in reallity and
Sub player inmersion...

you guys just have to think :

What should a U-Boat Captain do Now?

Have fun guys...:arrgh!:

I don't think that there is a brightness setting in the game....

Gotta love all the crap they throw in graphics card drivers with NO explaination of what it does.....

Yes, YES! Oh god Yes, Now I can see!

The GWX 16k Atmosphere is considerably darker than the default 8k. See this post.

onelife.. thats the ticket!!! the bottom right of your screenie is what my game looks like with 16k mod..cant see ANYTHING.

I will try the 8k and if its as light as yours, problem fixed. I jsut like the 16k mod because it seems more realistic as far as sighting difference.

If anything i think GWX2 actually lightens the nights compared to other supermods.

But if its too dark for your taste...

Easiest solution is just to turn up your monitor brightness when you need to see whats going on + play in a darkened room:up:

(as far as i know sh3 has no brightness setting)

ive just looked at my nvidia settings and upped the vibrance.......if this works and i can finally see in sh3 i will hunt you down and buy you a yard of ale my friend

You are sure "digital vibrance" has something to do with brighteness ? :hmm:

If i remember correctly, it makes the colors appear more flashy or something like that. Anyway, giving it a try won't hurt :yep:

For the dark nights, it was a problem for me too. But in another post, someone point me for a mod called : "SH3_Mod_MarhkimovsOceanMadness_V2".

In that mod, there are severall folders ; the one to use (for 16K) is : " Marhks' Ocean Madness V2 (Only for Rub or 16k) "

Nothing is broken in GWX, only the env. files are used, and the good news is :

It works good

It's less dark than stock GWX 2.0. On my rig, it seems it is like OneLifeCrisis screen 8k more than anything else, so i kept it.

It must be activated in JSGME on top of GWX 16K mod.

Maybe you should give it a try.

@ Wildchild, you should ask for permission to use/alter other peoples mods though, or atleast add a list of credits.:stare:

Edit: See here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=115983

You hit the nail on the head JC. This is not an ARCADE mod. :yep:

edit: While I sympathize with all includeing myself who have visual probs. I use tools like Hydrophone to work around dark nites. And as far as leaveing the sub pen just be careful you don't hit anything and have Liabilty Insurance policy in glove box.
