It seems to me like you can make an educated guess about a ships nationality by looking at where you find it and what course it's heading. Hope this isn't untrue as I currently consider any ship sailing along british coasts as a valid target.

Though perhaps it gets less usefull later in the war when the allies have better air cover anyway?
