I try not to play one game too much...I kinda go through rotations so I never really get burnt out on one specific game. I'm kinda moody when it comes to gaming...sometimes I like dropping GBU's from an F-16 at 30,000 ft, other times I get a craving to skip bomb ships in IL2, sometimes I like to go infantry and guide in LGB's with my laser sights in Operation Flashpoint or direct in artillery support, other times I just want to fly around and navigate the world in my Flight Simulator campaigns, and sometimes I just like to make money like mining, crafting, or creating some kind of multilayered pyramid scheme to get filthy rich in an MMO like the old star wars galaxies or eve online. All depends on my mood. I like SH3 because I can just cruise along and listen to authentic ww2 and german music. There is something just relaxing about it that you really cant get anywhere else.

I for one would be sad to see you go and hope you don't fade off the forums.

I had a month off earlier this year away from SHIII computers and the internet and came back much envigorated and keen to start mucking about with it again.:sunny:

My advice is to take a break for a while and see if the addictive nature of the beast comes back. Who knows if GWX is as good as the beta testers say you might have a reason to get back into it by Xmas.

Iam going back and forth to this game (and sh2 also)

When you do something to much it become a boredom.

I use to check this site now and then, even between my gaming sessions.

It can take up too 1-2 month between my gaming sessions.

just check my date when i joined this forum and my post count :)

But i still think this game can offer me more gaming experience and joy so therefor ive keept it installed on my computer ( also becuse its a pain to do all tweaks and install mods etc when i want to play it)

So just take a break from it cuz it seams you feel sorry for leaving and that you really dont want to do it but are bored of the game.

This community is also one of the best ive faced and i think you also agree on that and that keep you going.

But everything needs to take in moderation. Do something els but keep you updated whats going on in the community and iam sure u will get the spirit back one day.

Anyway, sad to se you go but i think you will come back. :)

i dont know what you are talking about when you say "both sides of the supermod fence" or what ever. I am glad i dont know, and my personal advice to you is to get some time off, and then Play again. SOME isnt meant to be a few hours. i do think a few months, 3 or 4 might be more what you need.
And when you come back, Play it. take the newest version of any supermod, and get your head around all the "sucking" problems it poses you, return to base if you ever manage to.

You say you foiund your own representation of how you feel SH3 should be.That can not be a good thing, because , under the surface of historical accuracy, complexity,etc... you engineered all that.
Correct? It is, to a major extent, your variant of VIII and IX type subs bashing that Allies.

So... take Someone elses Variant, PLAY IT PLAY IT and survive. While you play it, do not partake in modding discussions, jhust USE mods and talk about your experiences in the main Forum.

I know how you feel (CFS3) and i have been there. done what i jhust advised you.
Now get the feck outtahere, and visit the Pubs and playhouses in Brest and Lorient, La Spezia and Kiel.
