Not only did he announce his aversion to guns (glorifying them for the right amount of money is apparently okay though), he also...

1. Stated the ride in the Royal Marines landing craft to his announcement as 007 "scared the hell out of him".

2. Cannot drive a stick-shift and reportedly asked that the classic Bond Aston Martin be an automatic.

3. Lost a fake fight (screwed up a stunt fight and had to have his two front teeth repaired).

I sure hope this guy can act. I'm gonna be ticked if I spend the money and end up seeing "Jane Bond".

Wow judging a guys performance and suitability on those criteria, are you by any chance part of the bring Pierce back fan club.

I can't wait to see it and having seen some behind the scenes stuff it looks good and that Daniel Craig is a credible Bond.

Where is the George Lazenby option? :D
This is why there is no George Lazenby option:

Haha Bort!

And this is why Roger Moore will never be the number one Bond:

Sean Connery is the only true bond, all others suck. :yep:

HUH? Dr. No followed the book very closely (except for the manner of No's death). From Russia With Love was also quite good. Goldfinger started to wander a bit (and add gadgets), but was still pretty faithful. Even Thunderball had the basic plot. After that...

I personally wish they had gone whole hog and retro-fitted this movie all the way back to the book, in 1952.

I agree with Steve, they should redo the lot again and stick to the books.

There have been some seriously cheesy Bond moments over the years. I can say with the utmost certainty that George Lazenby was better than Timothy Dalton. And I actually liked "Never Say Never Again". It was almost a spoof of Thunderball, but Connery, Klaus Brandauer, and Edward Fox all did a good job. There were a lot of subtleties in that movie.

I'm so disgusted with Hollywood, I'm not really interested in the new Bond movie. Based on the few screenshots, however, if I wasn't so disgusted with Hollywood I would probably take a look at the movie.

I can certainly agree with that. Dalton kept looking like he was going to burst into tears at any moment. And i'm sorry but no way would Connery or any of the other Bonds, even Moore, let a woman drive him away in the truck at the end.

Say what you want about Lazenby. On Her Majesty's Secret Service had Diana Rigg, and that makes it watchable for me anytime.

I saw that bond movie and it was action all the way

its about time they change everything about queer bond movies they had before except for connery and moore i likes those movies too-- but this movie is in your face kind of attitude.:damn:

Couldn't agree more! As much as I love the series DAD (and some others) were certainly over the top with regards to the gadgets. At this point I believe CR will go down as one of the best Bond movies ever! Now all we have to do is wait a year for the DVD! Any other afficionado's in here that will be trading in their DVD collection for the new collection that's now being released?

stabiz 11-19-06 09:11 AM

I think new Bond is going to be great!

bookworm_020 11-19-06 05:37 PM

I saw him in L4yer Cake, He did a great job there. In the directors voice over, it's joked in a scene where he has a gun that he's trying to be James Bond! The DVD was released a couple of days before it was anounced that he would be Bond.

blue3golf 11-19-06 08:12 PM

Connery is the man! Hasn't been another one as smooth or badass as him. Either that or I don't like change, nothing like the original.
