If you want a shooter to challenge your system, try F.E.A.R. It's better than Quake 4 I think. It's not for the faint of heart, though

Yup, FEAR is a great game, and Quake 4 is crap, IMO

Agreed!
Thats good enough for me.:D

Common UPS. :smug:

Before it starts: I'm not trying to start a flame fest!!! :o

But I don't get the hoopla over Intel's dual-core, except the hype. Traditionally, AMD has been preferred for gamers and are usually cheaper and better (according to most benchmarks when gaming is the purpose). If I was to go out and buy a dual-core box I would definitely go with AMD. But to each his / her own!

AMD 64 3000+
2 gig Kingston ram
nVidia 6800 GT
Maxtor 60 gig SATA
WD 80 gig IDE
8-channel on-board audio

Yes, AMD has been the leading brand for quite some while, but the Core 2 Duos smash AMD in all the reviews I`ve seen.

Dowly 11-11-06 06:07 AM

Yea, I prefer AMD also. But it is pretty much up to the user, which one he likes. Same´s with the graphics cards. Some like GF, some like ATI.

But if someone would give me a Intel quad core for free, I would take it! F*ck the AMD in that case! :rotfl:

:o I've been an Intel user till today.
going to AMD because the intel I have now....well seeying the temperature I could bake a Egg on the CPU:rotfl: 60 - 70 ºC:huh: also because of the cheap ''made in china'' plastic fans

Dowly 11-11-06 06:16 AM

I´ve been using AMD always. :) I can say that I´m a satisfied customer. The Flight Simulator X has been the only game to bring my PC to it´s knees. :smug:

We tried to keep the costs down and still get a good gaming computer......impossible? maybe not....

[edit] Now I KNOW that this computer rocks! I just played Battlefield 2 on highest settings! And no lagg!!!!!!
