I don't care who's in charge, republican or democrat as long as the troops get the gear they need. But I don't think they'd abandon our troops, but they probably would abandon the Iraqi people by a timely withdraw. I woudlnt shed a tear over that personnaly. I know what its like to give up your freedom, and everything you love in the intrest of an ungrateful people who would just as soon stick a knife in your back about as quick as they can utter the words, "F**k you GI!".

Only problem is its a catch 22. We can't withdraw because it would (one of the few things i do agree with bush on), embolden the islamic insurgent/terrorts/whatever you want to call them. They would see it as a victory and more would arguably follow. I don't like how we got there, i dont like the idea of staying, but i agree we can't go anywhere. We're F'ing stuck between a rock and a hardplace.

Your point is well taken regarding support of the troops. This is why I cannot understand any support for John Kerry from any current of former military personell. Since April of 1971, when he testified before congress, he has had nothing but contempt for the military, to the point of calling all GIs criminal rapists and, Ghengis Khan.

Kerry's just an asshat, simply put. I really hated the elections.. i mean.. it was bush or this guy. I voted indpendant who had no chance in winning to avoid personal blame for either of them. Seriously.

Its not about personal blame. Its about what is right for the country.

The answer i think is "None of the above".

It wasn't about who was right, it was about who would F**k up the least? Which is the lesser of the two evils? Like finding out how many lick's it takes to get to the center of a toosie pop, the world may never know.

If you check back I didn't say 'who was right'. I said what was right.

:hmm: Kerry is also a bit right

because why else are they trying to recruit people in those low class villages
where there is a lack of education and jobs.

blue3golf 11-01-06 07:43 PM

What low class villages, 1/3 of the army has at least a bachelors degree.

Some of my previous posts weren't meant to defend that washout Kerry, but more of a voiced concerned over reports of an increasing number of Cat IV's entering the service. In the army in particular. Standards are what they are, and when they lower them, i beleive its cause for concern. But thats my own personal opinion because.... well.... i care.

Increasing? I gotta tell you, the Army of my day (1977-84) doesn't hold a patch to the professionalism, training and skill of todays soldiers.
