I thought, like me, you'd like some kind of "captain" portrait-like old photo of dave he would have think to be funny, so you can keep his memory alive... Not to mention, paste it into SH4/3 Textures to have him on board :arrgh!: Comes in two versions (one tribute to his beloved SS194 seadragon sargo class):

I know it's no big thing, but at least something i could do to honour him and his sense of humor.
We miss you Dave

Very nice kapitan_zur_see. I am sure Dave would of really liked it and got a kick out of it. A really nice tribute sir.

]I been moving so I have not been here:smug: .Thats why the late response.

We will try to finish what Dave started

Here is some good news!

After some thoughts and after seeing Captain Haplos thread about getting Dave's latest work finished for the public. I have decided to pick up the ball and see if we can finish what he has started, see this thread for more info about our progress : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=128808

Skwasjer has worked on correcting 2 bugs in the scene.dat and I am working on improving the enviroment colours for ROW to match Dave's latest work.

 o.m.g.

I've been absent for a couple of months and to come back and read this makes me sad  . It's a great loss for the community.

My thoughts and condolences go to his family.

Dave was larger than life here at SUBSIM, and will never be forgotten.

Thanks kapitan_zur_see for the in-game photo of Dave! Looks terrific and it is truly a fitting memorial for such great talent (and man). This community has a lot of wonderful people here.

That's great to hear Kriller. Its GOT to be hard to start moving forward again, and I'm sure the load feels quite heavy.

I'm sure that's what Dave would have wanted though too. He worked so hard to finish it for everyone, and you could tell by his posts that he was racing against the clock.

Watching fellow Subsimmers file through here to pay their respects is entirely sad for all of us standing on the outside looking in.

In the early days constructing the Grey Wolves project, my best friend Kurt died of a stroke, and it made my whole world stop for a time. I could only think of what I'd lost.

Its hard to remember when it comes to the death of a friend, that we shouldn't keep dwelling on their death, but instead celebrate their life, and our good fortune for having had the honor of knowing them.

Hang in there ROW crew. You've seen the pit of despair... and it leaves you with only one direction to travel.

Bless you Kriller2 and all of you modders

Aw jeez, I've been away a while busy with other things and just dropped in to see what was up with ROW and SH4.

Just want to say that Dave was probably the finest human being I have ever known - he gave us all something to aspire to with his cheerful nature, his incredible determination to get the job done no matter what obstacles, his constant willingness to spend his remaining time improving SH4 for us and helping anyone that was having probs with it, and his refusal to ever complain or feel self-pity and yet still keep on busting his butt for the community when faced with health probs that would devastate the average man.

Dave, if I could be even 1/10th the man that you were, I'd be 10 times better than I am now. You were an incredible man, and the whole world, not just Subsim has suffered a loss with your passing. Rest in peace Dave, and I hope you're up there in Heaven doing awesome mods for God right now...

Kpt Lehmann is right, let's don't mourn his loss but rather celebrate his life and courage, and remember that we were blessed to have known him even if it was only for a short while. (Hard to believe but he was here less than a year...)

Hi Kpt Lehman,
Thank you for supporting me on continuing the development of ROW it's nice to hear.

Yes it feels quite heavy, having to live up to what Dave did and carry on his spirit in these forums, but I know I can't do that, because no-one can replace Dave, but at least I can try to focus on correcting the few bugs Dave had to leave or didn't have time to correct and try to finish what both of us started a year ago.

First I will try to make the colours look better and look more naturaly, as you probaly know, my passion is for colours and graphics from my early days of modding on SH3.
Then I will concentrate on the reflections and on making one scene.dat file that will work with ROW, RSWD and RFB.
so there is plenty of work to do and only one way to travel ;)

We know we're late posting this message, but people say "better late than never"...
Here's the homage to our good friend David, aka LeoVampire, from all of us members of the GWX team. Some of us SH3 players had the chance/occasion to speak a bit to Dave, about random things, his work on SH4, life in general, etc... And we measure the chance we had.
This nice man was not only a skillful member of the ROW team, but also a sweet person who would have deserved to get a much better life. As life was more a task and pain than a pleasure for him, the only dream he still had was to finish his work on the ROW project, one of the most ambitious SH4 mods...
May your soul be always with each and everyone of us at Subsim, guiding us through our real life problems... And with every member of the ROW team, helping them to reach what you were undoubtly aiming for : nothing less than the highest level for this mod.

We take a bow in respect. No one of us will ever forget you, Sir.

Damn! Leave town for a few days and the world goes to hell. I never met him other than through his work and comments, but you could not help but love him. I don't think there is anyone in this community that is not using something of his, so I guess in away that makes him immortal. He Will Be Missed...
