Here's from a couple of old careers.
Have'nt made it through 1940 yet, playing GWX and dead is dead. ;) Before leaving Kiel. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/5...ootkielno9.jpg Some deckgunning. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/848...deckgunja3.jpg Sailing away in the moonlight. :yep: http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/9...ootmoonzi7.jpg |
My first BB!!
Sunk by U-109 in AM51, Nov 1939. I was returning to Wilhelmshaven with only 2 eels left after racking up 60,000+ tons when I received a report of a convoy due west of me, sailing at 6 kts east. So it was an easy intercept. I managed to remain undetected, & fired the 2 torps at about 4000m. One was aimed at the bow (below the first turret) and one at the stack. Unfortunately somehow I got detected (at night, at persicope depth, 2 kts silent running  ) & the whole convoy started to weave. My first trop missed just forward of the BB's bow, but the second hit. The Revenge sank soon thefeafter. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...3/Revenge1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...H3/Reveng2.jpg |
Convoy Massacre
This was taken in the early days of SH3, pre-mod.
Can't remember much about this patrol, except that I exhausted all my torps and deck gun ammo taking down this convoy. I was in a Type VII then. IIRC it was lightly escorted (maybe only one armed trawler or DD) & I went for that first. After it went down... well the fox was in the hen house! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...oymassacre.jpg |
That's cool! I did the same with a convoy outside Gibraltar in GWX. Sank the same number of ships too (only escort was a Black Swan, burning too, no idea why....)

in convoy under these circumstances I speculate that it has taken previous damage often and most likely by a German aircraft or occasionaly an AI sub. as for surface combatants I imagine that would be more rare excepting maybe the channel MM |
i think its more likely that the heavy sea is damaging ships sometimes.

A small experiment of mine... looks pretty nice...
Burn baby burn... http://www.directupload.net/images/0...p/6Df4S4px.jpg |

be a far more common sea damage issue than fire. MM |

The crew on U-331 will always remember this sunrise:sunny: After hours of hearing dc´s exploding around the boat during the night they cheered four times for the sun and their captain:up: |
This is U-47 on her second last patrol probably in late april 1940 if I remember correctly.
Leaving Kiel, I really like this skin with the green moss growing on the deck. All cred to Seth.:D http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/3...ingkielus6.jpg Attacking a resting taskforce up in Norway in a shallow water fjord. http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/6...tackingyb6.jpg The result! http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/510...acking1es4.jpg U-47 later visited the Bergen-fjord, purple snow anyone? :rotfl: http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/7...enfjordni1.jpg Edit: It was the second last patrol, here is the returning. http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/9...nghome1dr0.jpg |
