Running out of places to put it.....

The 3" we got yesterday, I will back blade it to the road and then pick it up with the loader and dump it into the ditch.
I've got an area(50x50') beside my hen house that I am going to turn into a 'snow dump' next fall.

Man, what a day. Right now it's snowing hard and the wind is howling. Plows have been taken off the roads and they have canceled school for tomorrow. A person could get depressed.:O:

Now the good news. Wife and I and my brother and his wife are headin' south. On April 3rd we'll be on the beach in Montego Bay. After a very short discussion we all said, yep, lets get out of here. Something to look forward to amidst all this snow. Can't wait and hang the cost.:D

The snow-blower I purchased over a month ago has helped. But even that
is getting harder to do.

HMMM:hmmm: That is not how a snow storm looks fellas; That is a mini ICE age! I'd be moving to California already. Here we only get six inches deep of hail the size of peas and earthquakes.

swamprat69er 03-22-15 08:01 PM

It looks to me like you didn't get the right snow blower.
Maybe you should have got this one. Toasty warm and no walking.

Some of us go way back! My dad had one of these for our 200' foot drive in Minnesota; shoveling was a task assigned for all of us 4 kids and it was so grueling I refuse to live where there's snow to this day...Even stayed home in balmy CA one Xmas when all the inlaws-my wife included- were at Tahoe for the holiday. Sure enough they had to shovel their way into the rented chalet!!! "and gentlemen abed in Napa were accursed they were not there"...to shovel!:/\\!!http://scotlawrence.smugmug.com/Othe.../Model%20S.jpg

could someone send me some of that snow please, we only get 2 seasons here, the wet and the dry.

swamprat69er 03-25-15 02:24 PM

It is raining now. Bye, bye snow. The rain will strip the snow off and suck the frost out of the ground.

swamprat69er 03-30-15 06:04 AM

I got up this fine spring like day at 6 A.M. to find 4" of snow on the ground and more coming.
YEAH SPRING!

LOL:haha:
Not really. We usually get a false spring in late February or early March that causes the trees to bud too early and then we get a snowstorm and one last freeze. The snow in the picture above had fallen off the trees by noon the next day and melted off the roof causing a gutter to overflow. Six handfuls of Maple seeds were promptly removed from the downspout. It sounded like a toilet flushing when all that water drained out.:D
Temps forecast to be more seasonable at 59 F today and tomorrow.:yeah:

swamprat69er 04-02-15 06:33 AM

We were supposed to get freezing rain last night, changing to rain this morning. We got a inch and a half of snow and it is raining now.

Wolferz 04-03-15 05:30 AM

Danger, Danger....

After a high of 62 yesterday...
The morning greeted me with the carbon monoxide alarm.:timeout:

Shut down heat source!:dead:

swamprat69er 04-03-15 05:37 AM

What are you heating with? Coal as I recall?

Yes, good old petrified carbon anthracite.

Side effect: My stove operates off a thermostat. If the air isn't cold enough outside, along with solar heating of the house, the stove goes to a low burn and the chimney stops drafting or it back drafts from the wind.
Hence the functioning carbon monoxide detector.:dead:

swamprat69er 04-04-15 06:29 PM

How did you fix it?
