Any time, sir. I hadn't even considered what effect moving the kickoff back had on the stats. I do kind of favor the first team to 6 points idea. At least that makes kicking that 50 yarder a little less tempting (unless, of course, you've already kicked one in the OT).

Wait, there's an equal amount of risk in kicking 50yd FGs in OT, if you miss, the other team gets the ball with good field position.

If you consider the 33 yard line good field position, then you have a point. Of course, if you have a good defense, then the 33 isn't such great field position. There's always a downside to every approach.

Are you saying the D won't have an excuse when the superlegs of tomorrow are able to kick it between the uprights regularly from 75 yards away? :p

Same thing happened on NFL Today on CBS ... It was the sunday morning show the day after the Charger game. Most of the host football experts were in awe that Manning and the Colts could lose a game to a lowly team like the Chargers.

If the Colts had of won in OT they would not have even brought up the subject.

They lost period and the running game of the Chargers and the special teams punting the ball behind the ten yard line several times helped a lot.

The Chargers won and may very well go on to win it all, because they are a good team. They've been in a playoff mood for the last four games of the season.

70% of the time the team that wins the coin toss loses the game ... shocked? Me too, but thats what they said on NFL Today sunday morning.

That 70% statistic is unbelievably incorrect. You sure you heard it right???

Perhaps 70% of this year or any one particular year, but looking at one year isn't statistically accurate either.

Well, from 2000 - 2007 60% of the winners of the coin toss in OT won the game. I don't know '08 stats, but just accounting for the games I've personally watched, 70% would be off the charts.
