^ TBH, I think this country is finally 'waking up'. It's about time too. It's up for discussion whether there's better ways of going about it.

Look, I don't deny that the recent scenes are extreme and excessive, but who's to blame? For close to a decade this country/government has been dumping all over the youth of this country and something eventually had to give. This is the result for not respecting that the participating generation is the future of this country and as a result, this generation feel they have no future.

If the government or 'law abiding' citizens believe that this will be solved with 'zero tolerance' and the heavy arm of the law, they are mistaken. All that will accomplish is an initial underground movement and then a more severe re-occurrance of the past events.

At the end of the day, people need to take responsibility for their actions, those taking part in the riots and those forcing the participants hand. Unfortunately, I do not expect either side to 'man up' and admit anything, blame will be swiftly cast and a PR war will ensue with nobody bothering to examine the endemic faults that caused it all in the first place.

Being brutally honest, it's a very bigoted mind set you have there. Forcefully imposing 'peace' is not the answer, imprisoning mass offenders is not the answer (especially on an already over populated and failing prison system), the true answer is one that has eluded this government for a long time and I'm not sure I, or anyone else, can safely say what it is but it must start with the realisation that there has been a systematic failure when it comes to this particular demographic.

What needs to happen now is restraint, no heavy handed tactics and absolutely no casualties (on either side). We need to mediate this situation by whatever means are necessary. Forcefully quelling this action will only result in future outbreaks.
