gday all.... surfacing after sitting on the bottom for a while.......my my...hasnt this puppy known as sh3 moved along quite nicely......:sunny:

anyways...just to chuck my 2 bobs worth in.....
being an ex royal australian navy sailor (hmas perth ddg38) i can certainly tell u that the oceans are indeed a deep turquiosy blue no matter which ogen ur in.... coastal areas seem to be influenced by weather, topgraphy (rivers and harbours) & human interferance and can be anything from a brown to a greeny blue or if ur in the phillipines a plasticy rubbishy foot thick layer of junk(wheres the water)....:yep: ... for an example...port jackson(sydney harbour) is a crapppy browny/greeny/blue untill about a kilometer outside the heads where it turns into a vibrant and very clean & rich deep blue... :|\\ dammit im sinkin again........... keep up the fantastic work

Here some pics from my latest testing:

Not photo-editing in the following pics beside cutting the upper and lower edges to give it a bit of cinema-feel.

The sun!

Day later!
The Mood and the Colors in the early morning was jaw dropping!
I spent a while just watching. And while doing so, Buchheim's description of the stormy sea in the morning came to mind.
The pic does the phenomena no justice! (added a bit brightness)

Same day, just many hours later!

Random shot of a Liberator goin' down!

Testing in another part of the ocean and another boot!

It's a killer mod OLC. The dawn and dusk moments are killer!

Myaxle, nice pics  but... the sun actually isn't supposed to look quite like that (first pic) when setting. Another beta tester showed me a pic where it was all wrong, and it looks like you might have the same problem. Will email you...

I watched the video, and didn't get the 'surfing' part. On the other hand, overall it looks awesome! Can't wait to get the finished product.

ANZACMICK! It's good to see you're alive! Don't dive; keep posting! Oh, and you just reminded me of something, but it's not for here...

Just observe that the bow of the ship is always pointing up, there's no up and down, coz OLC was on the top of the wave, same speed, surfing!

:rotfl:

Pretty funny actually. And pretty hard to acomplish that. Luck or skill, OLC?

Let's just say that it was a good job I hit the Record key as quick as I did, cos my 'skill' ran out before long.

You can actually see the wave cresting ahead of the u-boat (well you can in the original video, but at YouTube resolution its harder to make out).

More unaltered in-game screenshots - these are from the lastest version of the 16km OLC Env (high-detail/lo-framerate version). 4xAA, 4xAF. Click on an image to enlarge it.

I think... it's just about ready for release.
