Was Clegg trying to be rude?

Farage must be rubbing off him, at this rate Clegg will take up smoking. :har:

Jimbuna 04-03-14 10:53 AM

As far as I am aware he is a smoker.

Maria Miller apologises for handling of expenses inquiry

Culture Secretary Maria Miller has apologised to MPs for her attitude towards an inquiry into her expenses.

The Commons Committee on Standards ordered her to repay £5,800 to cover over-claiming of mortgage expenses after she failed to cut her claims as interest rates fell.

It cleared her of making false expenses claims, but said her submission of "incomplete" evidence to the inquiry had breached the MPs' code of conduct.

The MP said the matter was now over.

MPs' code of conduct.
What flipping code? They are still at it putting in claims for things they can pay for.

Yep, the Home Counties can keep him - they're well matched.

Should the little Englander bugger off back to France?

He can bugger off to wherever he wants to - as long as he doesn't come north of the border. I'm sure he'll get another warm welcome if he tries it:

Maria Miller is just the latest in a long line of Tory MP's who go unpunished for what many clearly see as criminal behaviour ....corrupt Labour MP's go to jail while corrupt Tory MP's get a job in the cabinet; indeed it now appears that having corruption on your record is a positive plus for those Tory MP's who seek high office; those who have an unblemished record need not apply as they would not fit in at all!
When I first heard that the British Govt is advising the Ukrainians on how to avoid corruption I was mildly taken aback ; now I think it is such a preposterous idea as to be bordering on the farcical.
Where is the justice?!

Be fair, she did pay back a small proportion of the money she stole.
Though of course she didn't pay back all of it, or any of £1million profit she made with the use of stolen money, neither was she penalised for the crime itself or the abuse of office in threatening the journalist who reported her theft and the independent parliamentary body appointed to investigate her crimes.

But at least Dave is making a stand against crime and corruption, he backs her 100%:har:

Weeeelllll.......

If we leave the EU, then it might damage our relationship with the US. America wants us in as part of a strong Europe that can look after itself without having to be nursemaided.
