Dave personified everything that is good about subsim, and he will continue to do so for as long as we remember him. His journey was short, but his memory will live on for a very long time.

Sad News :(
Sincere Condolences to Daves Family & Friends & his two lovely dogs <S> Sir Such a sad loss for what is a great community You Gave So So Much and wanted to give us all More no matter how you were health-wise Sorely you will be missed  Goodbye Rest In Peace Anthony (Defiance) |
Ok, I have heard back from Francisco and he said a "plaque to hang with his other things would be nice and welcome." I will post more on this tonight when I get home, how to contribute, etc. My thoughts are to I'll set up a donation page where everyone who contributes will be listed and have a nice plaque made. Any donations in excess of the cost of the plaque will be donated to charity in Dave's name.
What kind of charity? How about some thoughts on that? Red Cross, or maybe some heart foundation, or USS Cavalla foundation, or ... ? I can also ask Francisco if he has a preferance. I think an appropriate 501c org of some type. Neal |

Truely tragic, I was deeply saddened to see that Dave had suffered a stroke, but this is simply beyond words. My condolences go to his family in this hard time. Although I barely knew Dave beyond the thread for ROW, its obvious he was a good person, who went out of his way improve this game/sim for everyone while making many friends along the way. May you rest in peace Dave...the Subsim community will miss you.
The Lord is my pilot, I shall not go adrift; He lighteth my passage across dark channels; He steereth me through the deep waters, He keepeth my log. He guideth me by the evening star for my safety's sake. Yea, though I sail mid the thunders and tempests of life, I shall fear no peril, for Thou art with me, Thy stars and heavens, they comfort me. The vastness of thy sea upholds me. Surely fair winds and safe harbors shall be found All the days of my life; And I shall moor, fast and secure, forever. Amen. Rest In Peace |
I've been checking this thread daily, hoping that no news really was good news. This is very sad. I know it's a cliche to say especially for someone so young, but it's true, when you see someone go who would have contributed so much more to the world, had they just been able to stay awhile longer.
Farewell Dave. As far as a donation, I'd agree with the idea of a heart foundation of some sort as a good candidate. I'm pretty close to Dave's age and I have heart disease too (and know many others in the same situation), so my bias is pretty obvious. This kind of loss just really hits close to home for me. |

First choice would be Francisco's call, second choice USS Cavalla Foundation or similar. |
