They're animated. The developers let me get my hands on a short preview video, in which an American destroyer is sunk. The lifeboats were lowered by the heroic crew, but unfortunately one of them capsized when the Destroyer sunk. It couldn't get away in time because Parker had to jump back aboard the ship for his teddy, and, upon returning, realized he'd also left his comics book.
But yes, it was quite a sight. |

No doubt those are truly stunning pictures of art and I'm just simply impressed.
On the other hand, I have yet ever seen any caps on the water... all the water looks too calm... Bit messy looking water might look more realistic than glassy clean water.. I guess. We haven't yet seen cloud generation? I still think the cloud texture does NOT look generic (same thing to textures used in major SH3 mods) but can quickly be looking repetitive(it's always "scattered" cloud of the same pattern), and moreover it looks very flat. Tho can't complain for the awesome looking nevertheless. |
Huh!

Point taken :yep: but an awesome picture nevertheless

Could it be that the turret is still in the barbette and the stern is already beneath the waves.
|
|
I think the stern is down in that picture also.

Wildcats on carrier deck! Map showing fleet movements plus areas of Japanese domination! Awesome-looking spreading wake ripples! A bit of management-screen confusion: I thought that I, II, and III would be the watch shifts, but that first screen shows I, I, and II? On the other hand, it now says "Control Room" instead of "Command Room"! We finally see a shot of the "Machinery" screen, and it appears to be a very detailed damage-control layout! I can't stand all this excitement! I have to go take a nap! |
check out this one...:o

Yeah, I love that new "See what's just below the surface" stuff.

Now that's an awesome shot, Paajtor!

I like that briefing map, too, with the arrows and marked territories and ship icons and whatnot.
Oh, and if you'll forgive me for adding something completely off-topic, do any of you get a Final Fantasy feeling when seeing those people stroll around on the battleship? It makes me want to take control of one of them and walk him around the ship, hitting the 'X' key to interact with the other sailors. Tidus: Where on Earth is Yuna? Have you seen her, ensign Yoshi? Ensign Yoshi: She went below-decks with Barret, kemosabe. Lt. Cid: Yeah, said she wanted to see his blitz balls-- Tidus: Oh ****:o. [Something big breaks surface 50 feet off, action music starts] Tidus: Oh my God, Sin! [Turrets traverse and take object out] Lt. Cid: ...False alarm yet again, just 'nother Yankee sub. They always surface near these battleships. |
