Ladies and Gentleman, my I present to you for your entertainment and edification....The Dumb and Dumber show.

Quote:

Chancellor George Osborne and shadow chancellor Ed Balls have set out their competing messages ahead of the Budget on BBC One's Andrew Marr Show.

Mr Osborne said the coalition's welfare reforms were "one of the most progressive things that any government has ever done".

He also revealed that the Help to Buy scheme for newly built homes would be extended to 2020.

But Mr Balls accused him of failing to stem the UK's "cost of living crisis".

The chancellor said: "I'm a low tax Conservative. I want hard-working people on all incomes to keep more of their income tax free."

Business of any government is to give you money then take it back off you via some hidden back door tax. I want to see a massive shake up at Westminster and bring it kicking and screaming out of the Victorian ere...

The last budget of most governments in their last year is a give away and kick certain people in the teeth without knocking any teeth out unlike budgets before.

I don't see the problem, throwing in 15 billion to boost the market will in no way inflate prices or cause a property bubble.
The second part is slightly more contravertial, but I cannot really see any reason why the tax payer should not give a full guarantee to any person who wants speculate on a £600k property.

Now some naysayers wold say that putting the money into council hoses and affordable housing instead would give the same boost to the construction industry, alleviate some of the demand, mitigate the problems created by the bedroom tax....but that would just be silly and not ideologicly sound to a bunch of ministers who overall have never actually held a job or lived in the real world beyond daddys trust fund.

Does IDS still believe?
Yet another of his "money saving" DWP projects has gone tits up.
Can he keep his faith in himself?

£17 million to set up, £6 million a year to run.
Now its being abandoned as its rubbish, and to top it all the company running it wants an extra million just to remove all the fraudulent job adverts:rotfl2:

Don't forget, he managed to get sacked when working the property market at a time when the market was so inflated that a dead dog would have been considered a viable employee.:rotfl2:

Jim if they win the GE you can bet they will steal that money back. The business of government is to give you money then steal it back off you with compound interest. :yep:
