Well you can thank the unions block voting for his party election....his brother (a past acquaintance of mine) was always the preferred choice IMO.

I bet they've been kicking themselves for some time now.:/\\!!

As for the leadership contest up here, Unison and Ucatt have swung in behind Neil Findley and I bet Unite won't be too far behind them.

Not the greatest of choices for Scottish Labour members, IMHO. Murphy may well get in but he'll be seen as Westminster's man.

As Labour are now being denounced as "Red Tories" by many it'll be a gift to the Nationalists. It'll be interesting to see just how badly the Labour vote collapses up here next May, anyway.:hmmm:

Mike.

That block vote was a disgrace as clearly the party wanted his brother.

Moving on to Scotland why are they up in arms with this new poll saying most Scots want to break away? Hang on they had their chance so why are they trying to lock the barn door now as the horse has done a runner.

Why would George Clooney play the part of a big drip of a lap dog kissing Toff Boy's rear end? Look the fact is only one person should play the part of Nick Clegg and that is Nick Clegg who better. :)

The SNP has more effective propaganda and their main opposition's just imploded.

Scottish Labour's main problems are:

It's not Scottish enough.

All the best people went to Westminster.

It's not Socialist enough for Glasgow.

Speaking of Glasgow, it appears the City Council want greater devolution themselves so they have a better chance of sorting the cities many problems. One of the SNP's greatest weaknesses is a mania for centralisation. I can't think of any of Scottish council authority they haven't annoyed....:hmmm:

Going back to England, I see "Devo Manc"'s on it's way.

Mike.

Just goes to show how disillusioned with politics you lot are!:O:

Meanwhile, I was right enough about Unite backing Findley:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...itics-29917201

If he wins, expect Scottish Labour to try and out-Left the SNP. Since they've never really progressed beyond the 1970's, it shouldn't be too hard...

It would appear that the local devolution cat is out of the bag:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29924803

Considering that city and local authorities had way more powers a century ago than they do now speaks volumes about one of the little known side effects of WW1. Government centralisation to fight the war was needed, but it's ultimately proved to a bad thing. As an aside, LLoyd George would have nationalised the railways in the 1920's if he'd been allowed to.

Finally, if anyone thinks Salmond is upset about his effigy being blown up in Lewes, think again. I'll use Brian Taylor's quote from Burns:

"The mair they talk, I'm kent the better."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29940873

As far as Eck's concerned, more publicity is fandabidozi. He may be a pain in the backside, but he's far better at the political game than the three numpties.

Toff Boy and Gideon put spin on their lies about we are not paying the EU bill.

Quote:

The UK will only have to pay half of the £1.7bn budget surcharge demanded by the European Union, Chancellor George Osborne has said.
Speaking in Brussels, Mr Osborne said the UK would make two payments next year totalling £850m instead of £1.7bn in a lump sum by December.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29956289

More bloody lies from this bloody awful government.

BossMark 11-07-14 02:59 PM

For anyone confused when reading toffboys party manifestos...

Just change the word 'plans' to 'lies'.

It's not as if we could just opt out on the bits of the EU we don't like, despite what Dave, Nigel and the rest would have you believe. :O:
