Hello everyone! How do I bring my boat to the real coordinates? I am interested in the coordinates 41 degrees 46 minutes n/s and 50 degrees 14 minutes e/w. How do I find them on the map? :o

The SH5 world is flat and every line of lat and long is 120 km from the next. Divide by 2 to get the minutes. So then all you need to do is measure up/down and over from the nearest whole-degree intersection, dividing the resulting km by 2 to get minutes.

There is also a tool under real navigation when pressing E (assuming you are using TWOS).

What to do if JSGME doesn't "see" it?
P.S. I've simply replaced the default speech files with the German ones you've provided and it works perfectly. Anyway, JSGME is useful so thanks.

Who knows what this strange effect is?

Hi
unfortunately one of the SH5 bugs. I have the same thing and I'm kind of used to it.

I've searched high and low and I can't find anyone else mentioning this issue. Look at the inner dial of the conning tower compass. It's using the speedometer texture:

It appears to have been mixed up with this gauge in the diesel engine room:

Is this a known bug since vanilla? Has any modder been able to fix it?

Intro runs but the .exe does not

Sorry but 175 pages is a lot to read through.

I recently re-installed SH5 and now I’m encountering this weird issue where the intro video will run in the upper left of my screen BUT the .exe is not running in Task Manager. The intro finishes and … nothing. It closes and that’s it.

I had the game running fine on this very PC a year ago. I’ve tried both the Steam version and the Ubisoft Connect version.

Anybody know what’s going on and how to fix this?

Thank you o7

Problem with Free Camera getting dark when activated.

Hello all, I still have a big problem in SH5 TWOS with the fact that the free cam when I activate it goes dark. This is extremely annoying when wanting to make videos/screen/game recordings.

I have put a video on the Subsim facebook page showing exactly what is happening. Anyone able to help with this problem? It must be a setting in a camera initialisation file that may or may not be tweaked.

Please advise:

Radio bug?

Hey all. Following a convoy, convoy is at least 22000 meters away, nice moonlit night, speed 1-2 knots.

Up periscope and all these ships start mentioning that they have seen my periscope which is completely impossible at that distance. No escorts are directed toward me.

Is this a known radio bug?

Best,

Ashi.

Hello, I bought a CD copy of SH5 many years ago, and while I could play quite happily in the past, I can't get past a "Service unavailable" screen now, when trying to launch the game. How can I fix this?

CTD when saving at sea

After some years away from SH, I reinstalled SH5 and TWoS. I followed closely all the install instructions both for the game and the mod, and all seems to work as intended - except for a detail: I can't save the game.

While I can save at bunker prior to set sail (and load the gamesave at the bunker too), I can't at sea for that causes a CTD. At sea, I hit esc > save > type some name to the file > and when I click "save", the game freezes for some 5 seconds and CTD.

I have no mods apart from some of those provided with TWoS.

I've also reinstalled everything some 4 or 5 times now, but the problem persists. Is this an know issue? And does you fellow commanders know a solution to it?

Black Textures (missing)

Hey guys, i have been playing wolves of steel for about a week, then suddenly some of the instruments around the attack periscope have gone completely black. It is very annoying and breaking immersion. I have tried to reinstall a few times, nothing helps. Did anyone have the same problem?
