Makes you wonder why we bother with paying council tax. I nearly forgot a lot of councils invested in the Iceland banking mess.

£6 per hessian sack :o

A business venture idea springs to mind :)

Well he did say that money is no object.
He just didn't say whose money.

Still its nice to see Dave sticking to his guns on "saving" money.
No retreat on the 250+ cancelled flood management projects. and no retreat on the next 500 redundancies in the EAs flood management team.
I do like his logic on savings, if a £1 investment only prevents £8 of damage then its bad economics to make the investment:rotfl2:

Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election: Labour win

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26184146

Easy and expected win for Labour, but the best thing about this result was toff boy pushed into 3rd place and the LibDums losing their deposit :haha:

Jimbuna 02-14-14 05:29 AM

In fairness though it was a Labour stronghold.

What is interesting is UKIP getting the disenchanted vote...heaven help us if this happens more frequently in the future.

Will be really honest, not sure why but every time I see him on the telly well he just seems a right $^^$£$^^$^&% just one of those faces that I dont like or trust.

Jimbuna 02-14-14 01:19 PM

You, me and a few million others I suspect.

STEED 02-15-14 05:34 AM

Just looking at those results, Labour wins by 14% of the vote. What a poor showing for a strong hold.

How can anyone be elected by a minority vote. :nope:

This is not democracy this is a joke! I don't care what party it is when you see this sort of thing it shows our political system needs a massive shake up big time.

For it to be possible the lib dems would need to get some people elected.

Considering that their coalition with the tories has led to them losing their deposit lots of times in recent by-elections maybe they won't be in any position to join in parliament.:haha:
