I am a Coke Zero guy, tastes better and its target audience are males between 20 and 29 - so by drinking lots of it I hope to become younger and hipper. :DL

@Vendor: here's a source (in German only): http://www.absatzwirtschaft.de/conte...,tp=MarkenDehn :yep:
Basically they market Diet for the gals, Zero for the boys.

And it's a shame that Coke doesn't sell the good flavors, like Cherry Zero or Vanilla Zero in Europe. :wah:

as the Zero-variant? :o never saw it there.
But as you live in the first world regarding sodas, you have so much good stuff there. I found my favorite stuff there: cheery-licorice; soo much yummy!
Fits perfectly to vodka!

vodka, when we speak a different language, you need to visit the country to the north a little more often, :DL

Are they good sellers in your country?

As far as I'm aware they were a bit of a flop here in the UK :hmmm:

Well Zero established as the third brand (after Diet) which you can virtually buy anywhere.

It's a bit different with Cherry and Vanilla. They introduced Cherry in the mid-80s, to take if off the market after some years. It came back in early 2000, Vanilla came shortly after it was introduced in the US.

To buy both of them you have to go into the shady part of town, ask the guy i the red/white trenchcoat in a whispering voice if he has some bubbles. After checking if everything is safe, he opens his coat to reveal some Vanilla and Cherry Coke cans.
So no, I wouldn't call them good sellers here. :DL

In contrast to our Western neighbors, the Dutch, the Germans do not appreciate a healthy variety of sodas.

LOL :DL

The two popular brands here are Original and Diet...not sure which one sells most though.

I think the original still tops the charts, with diet second. Then Lucozade, Robinson's, Pepsi, Tropicana, Red Bull, Ribena. Data taken from 2009 http://www.adbrands.net/sectors/sector_softdrinks.htm

In 1987 a dentist told me to stop drinking Coke, and also stop having three sugars in my coffee. I bought Diet Coke, and haven't had sugar since. On the rare occasion where somebody has given me full-fat Coke it just feels like my mouth is being eaten away - doesn't taste or feel nice, and my teeth have a coating afterwards - I don't drink it, I'd rather go without. The ONLY exception is if it is needed for a cocktail, and then DC just doesn't have the same effect. The main one I'm thinking of is Toxic Waste, Double Bailey's + Blue Curacao + Coke = green sludge that has to be scooped with fingers. :D

And I hate going to a bar or restaurant and asking for Diet Coke and they give you Pepsi - it is not the same!!! Some places tell you when you order that it's Pepsi but not all. :nope:
