We would laugh if say Tom Cruise did that in a cheesy WW2-film. Awesome.

I saw an episode of JAG in which the hero saved a crippled F-14 by having them lower their tailhook and then using his armored glass canopy to push them out over the water, thus letting them eject where they could be picked up by friendly forces. I was choking, laughing out loud and shouting "B***S***!" all the way to the end of the show, when they had a disclaimer saying the episode was dedicated to a Phantom pilot who saved his wingman by doing just that over VietNam.

You're right, sometimes real life is weirder than the movies.

Not so much humorous than strange, BUT did any of you ever manage to do THAT???

I don't know how this happened, I didn't give him the navigator qualification, nor did he ever serve as the navigator (which I think would be a more appropriate way to handle qualifications anyway)

Yeah, if you hit the arrow key facing up (to look upwards) and just keep going with it, you'll eventually get this view.

Are you using SH3 Commander 2.6? Sometimes new crew come pre-qualified and experienced.

Rilder 07-28-06 03:05 PM

yea and you can also give more qualifications to petty officers with SH3Commander ;)

"Will we ever see the sea again, Herr Kaleun?"

LOL, I tried SH3 on a MX4000, and not only got the same results, I got some yellow/orange thing that looked like a floating monster a few hundred yars away. It reminded me of the rainbow effect on the USS Eldridge from The Philadelphia Experiment movie. :o

Klaus was always wanting to be first up when surfacing, much to the control rooms annoyance

Here's my first shot at this..Took this a little randomly when I noticed a trawler getting a little friendly with the beach.

Not actually beached, but it seemed a bit funny at the time.
