The Lions...what an awful season. Not one game won. Watch, next year they will come out on top.

Maybe they can use this season as a reason to ask for some "bailout" money from the gubmint:rotfl:Lord knows they need something.

Congats to the Falcons DT:up: Yesterday was a great day for me. I eat hotwings and drank scotch, watched my team make it to the playoffs and got my ashes hauled by my wife:p What more could a man ask for in one day?

Digital_Trucker 12-29-08 10:16 AM

Thanks, and the same right back at ya, AVG. I just about died when Carolina kicked that field goal to end the game with the Saints and keep us from taking the #2 seed. Awful lot of birds in the playoffs this year:DMaybe an all bird Super Bowl. Keep chanting "Why not us?":sunny:

Have to say the Playoffs look really interesting this year.
Im sad that the Pats did not make it thought Cassel done well overall and deserved a shot at the playofffs.
So who is everyone tiping for Glory in Feb?
I would like to see Mat Ryan get to the superbowl as i have been very impressed with the way he has led the team. He has got to be a shoe in for Rookie of the year.

AVGWarhawk 12-29-08 10:24 AM

Well, I'm glad the Patriots were eliminated from the playoffs. The Ravens would have to face them if they were successful. We head south to Miami. I would much rather Miami then the Patriots. If successful, we face the Steelers. Maybe Rothelsburg's head will still be spinning after his concussion. They have beaten us twice this year. It is high time to beat them is we are long over due. :p

Digital_Trucker 12-29-08 10:29 AM

I'd like to see Matt get to hold the Lombardi trophy in his first season:rock:More than that, I'd like to see the whole team get some respect for a change. Having been a Falcon fan since they "hatched" the team in '65 (wish I still had my Tommy Nobis jersey, holes and all), it's been a long road. It's just amazing to see what a bunch of guys can do when they actually play as a team.

On a side note, does any one else feel (like I do) that the method of selecting teams for the playoffs should be changed? I'm beginning to think that the teams with the best records should be chosen regardless of who wins what division.

AVGWarhawk 12-29-08 11:43 AM

A few changes do need to made. Best record should be in playoffs. Also, OT, both teams should be able to offensively touch the football. Sudden death sucks. As far as rookie of the year. Flacco might be in that bunch to select from. Time will tell.

ReallyDedPoet 12-29-08 12:14 PM

Good luck to all here that have teams heading to the playoffs :yep::up:

Yeah, the NFL overtime system is an embarassment. I don't think it will ever change, though.

Power of prayer got the Chargers into the play offs ... those little Catholic nuns in San Diego really know how to pray.

We play the Colts in San Diego Saturday 8pm est

Then we play Pittsburg (we lost 11-10 last time)

Then we play Tenn for the AFC championship
Then we go to the Super Bowl to play the NFC winner Sunday Feb 1st

That will be the last game this season for the Chargers.

Happy new years, niki and everyone. Good luck to all in the playoffs.

Speaking of New Years, did any one see that lame jump over the volcano in Vegas by Robbie Knievel? Can't believe I stayed up just to see it:rotfl:

Hey, that's how the losing team usually feels (I should know after yesterday:rotfl:). But, like they say, any given Sunday........
