Empire had an odd way of determining what sort of outcome a battle had. The vast majority of my battles were close victories according to the game even if I completely crushed the enemy.

Set up your mon to show you're in the clan.

Once you have selected the Steam group as your clan in-game, that's it. Just play the avatar conquest thing and you'll score points for the clan as well. :)

Mon is not mandatory for members, but it does look nice in team battles... terribly confusing if you're trying to pick out your own units though.

Cooperative multiplayer campaign!?:o Is this true!?

Arclight 03-18-11 12:26 PM

Yep, is nice. If a player goes into a battle, the other can choose to spectate or fight as AI. If he chooses to spectate, the "active" player can select troops and give them to the spectator, so you can fight battles together.

:o

Me LIKE! Too bad that I'm not very good, noone would want to play with me :haha:

Arclight 03-18-11 12:56 PM

Well, then you could give all your units to the other palyer and let him win it. :haha:

* objective for a long coop campaign is to hold 60 regions together, and the assigned, specific victory regions for the clan you picked. So you really work together towards a common goal.

Well just played 2 MP games and got thrashed in each one. First one was a 1v1 game. The other was a Team game, wish i was just taken to the cleaners. Steep learning curve ahead.
Still figuring my way around the new menus and interface.

Why not it's just a game you can have fun even in SP. If you're really terrible I'll coach you somewhat. Total War is not that hard to be able to hold on your own.

Another new feature(and if this one already existed in previous TW, than I am totally slacking), is the ability to bring back dead clans through Vassalage.

The exact circumstances went something like this: I started the Date campaign, which has you at war with the Mogomi and in a trade agreement with ClanX(can't remember the clans name). I take out the Mogomi Province 1, and was replenishing my army to take on province 2. Before I could do so, ClanX attacked province 2 and destroyed the clan.

I decide to go to war with ClanX, and precede to attack Province 2. Upon taking over the province, I'm given the regular Occupancy options, plus the option to bring back the Mogomi as my Vassal. It's a great way to bring back friendly clans.

Just keep in mind that stuff has changed quite a bit in Shogun 2. Morale breaks MUCH easier, general is a god and the rock-paper-scissors mechanics make you make new tactics. :03:

You mean general is not a god? You have to earn the perks like extra hitpoints and such.

Yeah noticed that in demo the punishment for mistakes is now much harsh but since it applies to everyone it would make the game easier to win from less able opponent :O:. Though much more difficult to win from equal opponent and more able ones.

While I hope this signals a return to thief roots as it looks, I am still harboring I'll feelings towards CA for the wreck that was ETW. I can honestly say that I was so disappointed and still am with it that I was down right sick because of it.

Given mods like Darthmod went a long way in helping it along it could only do so much, and then of course they flat abandoned it for NTW.

Shogun will have to be a miricle game in order for me to even look in it's direction.

I also agree that "hero" units sounds a bit strange. But will have to see how it's implemented.
