According to the wikipedia article on the International Security Assistance Force, Finland has (as of Apr 2010) approx. 100 troops stationed in Afghanistan. :hmmm:

I have more info than i cant tell.;) Officially they are training the locals and starting and protecting civilian projects.:salute: My brother and friends serve in FDF and he is talking me over to do a tour. Finns were offered own region in Helmland but our politicians refused, the military would have wanted. Estonian are there and Finns would fit with them and the Swedes nicely. The FDF is trying to get the politicians to deploy special forces in larger numbers there.:03: |

Hunters that get shot / shoot other people are stupid also but hunting animals doesn't quite correlate well with a war. |
Ye old Fins have been hanging since 2008:

I know a guy who has at least been there as an officer. From hearing him it's really difficult to know exactly what good might even potentially come from the whole operation. The longer the military troops from all the nations just kind of hang around there the bigger the chances are that the average people will become antagonised with them. There might even be a stronger alliance between the average Afghanis and the Taleban then the coalition. The fight for the hearts and minds is probably lost already.

Finland discontinued its prison projects in Afghanistan
The women’s prison project publicised on the YLE News broadcast of 6 May is one aspect of Finland’s activities in Afghanistan. Project monitoring has revealed that prostitution has taken place in the prison, with the involvement of the prison management. The decision to stop supporting the construction of prisons was made in April. http://www.finland.org.au/Public/def...&culture=en-US Looks to me like Finland is for supporting Afghanistan in a different fashion. |
Yea Finns thought they were building a prison for women in Afghanistan, turned out they were building a whore house. :har:
