On my shakedown cruise
Finally, I upgraded my hardware to the point where I can play SH5. I finished the "tutorials" and am now slowly, and lovingly, navigating out of the Kiel harbor on my first patrol. No need for TC as I get to know every crew member, and nook and cranny, of this beautiful boat!:D
I've been a diesel sub enthusiast since I was a kid (and that was a long, long time ago) and have eagerly played various sims and games on the Commodore 64 (Silent Service), Mac (Drumbeat), and, now, PC (SH2, SH3+GWX3, SH5). Thanks to all of you hardworking forum administrators and modders for making the Silent Hunter series the best U-boat simulators ever! I look forward to all of the tips, advice, fixes and improvements. |

Hello all, in real world im 21years old Finnish aircraft mechanic,
but i have same kind of bohemian beard and haircut than WW2 sub crew, hope thats a good start:DL. Im quite casual player of sub sims (SH3,SH4,SH5) but still i feel great joy after lurking under the sea unnoticed, blowing some ships to kingdom come, succsessfully evading the escorts (more joyable if they allmost hit me with depth charges:)) and get to home base without a scratch. I cant imagine how great it feels if u do this in 100% realism(or for real). I wish you all good hunting:salute: |

Hello
Hello all. Just wanted to say hi. Ive played SH4 before but could not really figure it out. Just brought SH5 and in my opinion is it's much easyier to play and get into for the newbi's, a little too easy now. Thanks all for all the info thats posted here, would be lost without it.

Donald Hogan, I live in Dallas, TX, though when my lease is up in Aug. my wife and I will be relocating to Savannah, GA. I've been involved in living history since i was 15, mostly US Civil War and WWII. Returning to college with in the next year to finish my degree, and hopefully, start teaching US history or English Lit.
Played SH3, 4, and now 5. Somewhere in the transition to SH5 i actually learned to fire a torpedo manually, well... 90% of the time now. couldn't hit the broadside of a stationary battleship at a 1000m in previous titles. |
Glad to have you aboard Donald. Make yourself at home. :salute:
For those that don't know me yet, I'm krashkart. I spend more time in GT than anywhere else on the boards, but I drop in from time to time to see what's new in the SHV world. Happy hunting. :DL |
