whatever!
looking forward to see new sounds to be included in the mod. #
cheers

As of right now I know of only one sound that will be changed and that would be the sound of the propulsion plant. If you've played Ohio, Skipjack, or the LA you may have noticed that you don't hear the diesels or electrics. That was replaced by a low "hum" that is barely noticeable in game.

I apologize if I came off rude again, wasn't my intention at all. I've spent time all over my boat -from Sonar to the Engine Room- so I know what certain sounds sound like. Inside and outside.

On another subject though, that CTD problem reared it's ugly head again so I've decided to wipe the slate clean and start each boat over from scratch.

you and mister happrich did an amzing job so far! im so looking forward to play this mod! good luck ,mate!

Thanks James!

In the epic battle that pits me against my CTD issue, I've made progress! Now it will CTD after 2 missions instead of just after 1. :rotfl2:So I'm going to make available the Permit class beta to get some feedback as to other users issues if any. It is not campaign ready so you'll have to play Single Missions and Patrols to test it.

My theory as to my CTD issue is that I may have a setting on my PC or for the game itself that may be causing it. So if you download please get back to me here with your PC's specs and your game settings along with all mods you are running in conjunction with it. I would prefer that you don't run any other mods with it so as to narrow the field.

just downloaded the permit and gave it a try on stock 1.5. shes a real beauty to look at.. but there is no crew. and each command ends up with "cannot comply"...

another questions on the ohio. do you suggest surface transit to search for contacts or have you worked on the sonar range, so that running submerged and :ping: is possible? ;-)

best regards.

ETR3(SS) 10-03-10 02:49 AM

Are you running any other mods with Permit? I have crew members with mine and I'm not running anything that affects crew members. As for the Ohio as is, I would suggest radar depth for it as I believe it uses stock sonar ranges. Sonar ranges for modern boats will be improved upon and you will be able to transit your entire patrol submerged.

My Permit contains the necessary campaign files. QUOTE "you will be able to transit your entire patrol submerged" : Have you found a permanent solution to stop the CO2 from rising? I´ve succesfully implemented my mod into the Operations Monsun Campaigns and will now replace the surface vessels and planes with new ones. this may be the basis for the Cold War campaign.however , I did not get any answer from lurker if I may release it with the OM data.

I heard recently that he quit modding and the forums altogether. I wouldn't expect a reply.

The only thing we can do is tell people not to enable limited O2 in the realism options, and redistribute it's percentage among the other options.

Can't you give the subs ridiculously high fresh air levels though?

jhapprich 10-03-10 04:40 PM

No, this is not possible at the moment due to the game engine`s limitations.

This. There's a lot of things that we are limited by due to the game engine/hard coding. If we could do something to the engine/coding I think the first thing to do would be to enable the homing torpedoes to change depth while homing.

lol, then that would mean I'd really be in trouble; I've been saved from being blown up by my own fish just be being deeper than they were o.O
