I don't think so eather, the graphics in this game are amazing I don't think that IL-2 can compare graphics-wise. And the detail is quite astounding, you can see the driving rods on a steam engine moving, tank treads moving, and tires turning. This is a turning point in air combat simulations!:yep:

Cant really compare to IL2, now can you. BoB:SoW will be having same detail or very close atleast.

But I for one don't know much about SoW, mostly because there is so little information from them...:nope:

We know that treads will be moving and acting to the terrain, cars have suspension, openable doors etc. Trains have their little thingies moving as it moves. Flak guns will be animated accurately as they fire etc. etc. So, pretty much same if not more on what ROF will offer.

I wouldnt be surprised if SoW and ROF team are working together behind the scenes to some extent. Looking at the screenshots of ROF, it looks very familiar, especially the terrain. :yep:

Sometime this year.

If I am not mistaken, the grass you see in the close up shot of SoW was only a flat grass fill-in texture for what they will really use. I think I remember them describing that they plan to use more realistic grass that is not flat.

Needs a bump.

Has anyone received Phase 3 yet or writen a review yet?

Catfish 01-29-09 08:01 AM

Hello,
i still have to wait for the 1st of february ;) , but there are already quite a lot of people who bought and play it, have a look at the Simouthouse OFF forum (but seems to be down at the moment). There is already a patch 1.1 out, dealing with smaller problems, however online sessions work, and TrackIR has produced a driver directly supporting OFF for XP, and Vista.
Greetings,
Catfish

I got mine today and love it! The same kind of immersion, even higher than the good old Red Baron!
Someone made a nice dogfight movie.

I E-mailed an admin over at their forums and kindly asked why I for some reason couldn't become a new member. That must've been over two weeks ago, still no answer...

Oh well...

You can't just register? You have to be approved?

Hello,
i have two eMail adresses in Germany, one at www.web.de, the other at www.gmx.de, and there is no problem at all with registering at simouthouse. This site is one of the best for MS's flight sims, so ... Just click on register here http://www.sim-outhouse.com/, enter your eMail addy, invent a password and that's it - there was never a problem before ? :o

OFF and ROF Freetrack

Hey All!

I'm new to this site! Very Nice! Very Nice! :)

This thread was a very informative read. Thank you!
All I have been flying about in has been IL2-1946 and OFF(2.0)!
I have no idea of ROF! Looks great!

I thought the only substantial WW1 Sim due to come out was Knights of the Sky.

Unfortunately, after getting hints that KOS was due out this last year, over and over, and it didn't!
I have almost given up on it!

So now I'm torn between OFF(3.0), ROF and maybe KOS?

Do any of you see any issues in getting Freetrack 2.2 running with OFF(3.0) and ROF?

Fincuan 02-08-09 12:33 PM

I wouldn't know about the others questions you asked, but I do know a thing or two on Freetrack: If TrackIR works in the game Freetrack works too, they both use the same interface. If the game does not support TrackIR there's still a good change FT will work in one of its "non-TIR" modes. Check the Freetrack forums for more information, there's plenty of that
