I once did 30-ish miles (Mablethorpe to Grimsby), when I was about 14. It was okay as it was the front wheel so I just rode home with no hands so there was little weight on the front.

Twenty years have passed and it was very dark tonight, so I'm not doing that again. :o

Well, at least you got someone to pick you up, if I was stuck somewhere I'd be setting up camp :-?

I told my tale of bike woe on my own thread, but I'll finish it here. I've had three flats now, and I finally gave in and bought a pair of airless rubber tubes. They're solid rubber, so they're heavier and a little harder to pedal, but they absolutely cannot go flat. No slime, no muss, no fuss; solid rubber that accurately simulates a fully-inflated tire. I love 'em! :sunny:

At 34 years of age I'd be strapping the bike or the wheel at the very least onto my back and jogging home :DL

Alright, alright! 23 years have passed, if that makes it any better.

Puncture repaired this morning but failed! Tube is about five years old so I'll just get a new one, tyres are seven years old and need replacing too, beading's coming away.

Buy a three-wheel ... so you do not have that problem,
