Just wondering if we've had any communications with either max-peck or XTBilly lately? I know Billy's circumstances but have not heard from ma-peck lately.

It's been a while since we've heard from either, with XTBilly nearing the end of another employment cycle, wondering what he was going to do, the last time we heard from him, and max-peck still had the paint brushes out and re-doing the house, and was doing without internet service (using his cell fone). If he has a wife is like mine, he's liable to be up on the roof or in the crawl space, in the middle of a re-modeling project that has gone way beyond painting...

I was wondering about Jeff-Groves the other day with RR, equating the Cubs being in the World Series with his disappearance - is he part of their team??... (Ahh-say Ahh-say, thass a joke sohn) His last two work projects didn't go real smooth from his last communications, so I wonder if that's still influencing any "free" time he might have... Or, is he about to unleash a whale of a good mod on the world shortly... ??

Now, impatient grasshoppers! While you are concentrating on the serene inactivity of the duck's head above water, most of the duck is furiously working out of sight to bring the next version.

As a matter of fact, propbeanie got our last problematic ship to work properly and I'm waiting on final files from s7rikeback. I anticipate publication by tomorrow of Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate v0.27 Beta.

I think I'll get out the power hammer for the IJN_SubTender though... If I'm not mistaken, s7rikeback has some airplanes back on the tarmac, or on the catapult, preparing for take-off... and here, to think, I thought there were already too many of those buzzing things... :lol: :har:

I'd better kick it into gear for the Campaign files at least, since we've made more changes to Type= numbers...

I knew that I had a screenie of the IJN SubTender flying the IJN ensign, took me awhile to find it though. At the moment I can't remember what else I did to get the ensign to fly on the flagpole. I really think it was more than changing the type to 14.

s7rikeback had changed that flag thingie back when, and he's got correct flags on his ships also... It's something rotten in my install again...

It's time! Thanks to all of our team, working furiously when it looked like we were stagnating, we have enough errors corrected in the mod AND in the stock game too, to release a much more reliable and memory frugal 100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_v0.27_Beta_EN in the Area 51, super secret (shhhhhhh!) Google Drive directory. We absolutely recommend that you use Large Address Aware when running FOTRS Ultimate Edition.

I want to put this out for a week of private and private beta tester testing. If it looks doable, this will become our first public beta!

Issues still remaining:
  • The FOTRS 1.5 campaign makes TMO look like a square dance. It's optimized for multi-player and a single sub will die. Your experience doesn't matter much--great players are dying in testing. This is a challenge mode extraordinaire. It will also be changed.
  • On a very few ships we have missing textures, so you might see a black gun, radar antenna, turret or other. Please report these as you find them.
  • Unfortunately, we've had to disable CapnScurvy's seaplane launcher escorts for now. It will make a triumphant return on a later release.
  • There may be other issues. This is a release in the right direction but we're not there yet. Please report all issues.
  • Title screen probably still says "Ultimate Edition v0.26 Beta EN" We'll change that an make no announcement. Watch the upload date for the mod. When it changes the title screen will too.
So start the stopwatch! Our goal is to go public beta next week, even with the killer campaign and AI. Those will be available as a plugin mod later, but for the core mod we'll be substituting a survivable version later.:har:
