Moan, moan, moan United.

"Manchester United's Champions League campaign ended in the disappointment of defeat by Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford to leave them with only a Premier League top-four place to fight for this season."

Paul Scholes "we should be able to go out and get the best manager in the world". Those words are the same entitled arrogance that has got Utd where they are today.

They're on a road to nowhere and they're going to be on it for a long time.

A shot in the arm or a kick in the pants.
Newcastle United are again getting some good results in another late season charge up the table, if this continues they could end up in the top ten. I'm not sure if this is the managers tactics or the owners giving the players a rocket up their behinds but whichever it is, it should go down like a bottle of newkie brown with the fans.

Indeed it is-Except the last game they played.

Did not see it-I missed it. Know only the result 1-0 to Chelsea

The most controversial VAR decision so far this season watch from 1:08 onward

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2146-s9iN0

STONE WALL PENALTY!

And prior to that here is the goal scorer getting away with a red card offence.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPU6It7vPMo

VAR....don't you just love it!

mapuc 03-16-22 11:16 AM

Can't see the first video. The second I could and I agree it should have been a red card. A football player has to have control over his body-knowing where his arm are in situation like the one in the second video where these to player jump up for nicking to the ball.

Tis a pity regarding the first video because that shows the dead cert penalty that wasn't given or even referred by VAR

I didn't want to bring that controversial Chelsea game up as it would have sounded like I was jumping on the Abramovich bashing bandwagon and Im not gonna do that. :03:

TOON away to Everton tonight.

mapuc 03-17-22 05:22 PM

I couldn't see the match -Birthday and family visiting me.

But I have read about it-And manner talking about some scandal scene in the match.

What's critical on Newcastle's play is they lost the match even with one man more in the end.

Worst performance under Howe so far.

Granted it isn't British but rather than start a new thread.

Russia's football federation has dropped an appeal against Fifa's World Cup suspension that was imposed after the country's invasion of Ukraine.

The Football Union of Russia had protested against the ban but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) says the FUR has now withdrawn that appeal.

Russia had qualified to face Poland in a play-off semi-final but the Poles instead received a bye to face Sweden.

However, Russia will continue to fight bans from other sporting competitions.

Those include Uefa's ban on Russian sides competing in European club tournaments, such as Spartak Moscow's ejection from the Europa League.

Uefa have also prohibited the Russian women's national team from competing in Euro 2022 in England this summer as a number of countries have refused to compete against Russian opposition.

The 2022 Champions League final, originally due to be played in St Petersburg on 28 May, has also been moved to Paris.

Russia has also filed appeals seeking the annulment of its bans from international gymnastics, rugby, rowing, and skating events.

Leeds Utd away at Brentford and Burnley at home to the Mighty Toon on Sunday 22nd May both games 4:00pm kickoff.
Leeds need to do better than Burnley to stay up hoping the mighty Toon can do Leeds a Big Favour but i cant see Leeds beating brentford we might scrape a draw.

Jimbuna 05-21-22 06:24 AM

Leeds will have to win a point more than Burnley because their goal difference is worse by a margin of twenty.

BBC News ticker goes rogue: Viewers are told that 'Manchester United are rubbish' and 'weather rain everywhere' before red-faced presenter apologises and blames it on a trainee
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...click#comments

Today the BBC News got something right for once, even though they tried to backtrack on it later, they blamed a Ticker trainee for it who in my opinion deserves a massive payrise for telling the truth. :haha:
Surely they have a Ticker that can overlay these messages over their live feeds without it being put on display, if they haven't got one then I suggest the BBC pour some extra resources into their hardware before giving their staff overblown salary upgrades.

You simply couldn't make it up :)
