Good news

Hi shipmates,

First day since the beginning of my wrist saga that i am pain free:Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:
Sure sign that healing is on the way but by no mean i will resume right away because tendonitis are slow healing bugger so i will have to be patient and wait another 3 to 4 weeks before i resume heavy duty mousing.

Also i wont start my first day with a 16 hr mouse madness instead i will gradually start back and if any pain show up i will stop.

I have place an order for a vertical mouse from Evoluent since many doctors recommend it to people who suffer from rsi.

Can't wait to resume what i was working on as a small teaser this is only one of many :

A wise plan mate. Great to hear you're pain free, and the teaser looks awesome! :yeah:

Hi mate,

Thank for the good words, he is part of the new crew replacement yes you heard me right bye bye the droids now U-BOOT_HAHD will have the most realistic crew ever made with life like animations and facial expression that will be related to boat conditions.

Ex: under depth charging you will have the crew very nervous looking at the ceiling scrutinizing the surface. some will remain calm others will panic.

Currently all new crew members 14 in total are fully rig for animation and some animation are already done for conning tower positions.

All realistic uniform are depicted according to respective boat type and year.

They will need to work very hard to surpass the new crew quality if they ever do another Silent Hunter in the future.

Best regards Hans

W O W

SHIII already has the best crew animation in regards to to current circumstance (Hunter/Hunted/DC) but what you guys have done with that alone is amazing.

Hi mate,

Yep 14 and some will be passive members like in bunk or doing usual function according to their rank.

Ex: passive crew member: Potatoes peeling in the torpedoes room or playing card and some reading or sleeping.

Mechanic will be in engine room doing usual maintenance.

When returning to port you will see some on deck preparing the boat to dock in and some others will be chatting or saluting the crowd.

All stock animations will be completely replace for crew.

Best regards Hans

Cheers Hans,

what you are working on is absolutely stunning, great work!
Having read your post about voice acting, I might be able to offer at least a link to some people who could be able to help you:

www.mindcrushers.de

Basically, Mindcrusher Studios is a German community consisting of voice actors, musicians, writers, cutters, producers etc. who produce free audio plays (can be downloaded at their website) and do voice acting and music for other projects, for example the excellent Wing Commander Saga project.

Since these people bring their own professional experience to this project (most of them are professional voice actors), I guess it's definetly worth a try. :salute:

Good luck, keep up the great work!

Hi Hans,

then these guys should definetly be a good contact for you. The work they have done for the Wing Commander Saga project is on a really high quality level. Taking this as a reference, imagine what other sounds could be like (also ambient sounds in the boat for example).

Another question from my side though - not related to the sound stuff:
I might have missed the topic in this thread, but... would there be any chance to have a widescreen-version of the HAHD GUI later on? So far I see the usual 4:3 ratio, but the graphics look really great and it would be fantastic to be able to enjoy them also on widescreens. :)

Hi mate,

This could be probably fix later on since we have made different resolution for texture work then our GUI guru Makman could probably answer this better then me but if i am not wrong i heard that the engine have a tendency to CTD often in non native screen resolution but this i am not sure.

Best regards Hans
