I have the latest RFB and RSRDC and I am getting map updates in the single missions. I presume you have it turned on in the gameplay settings?

...edited... Had earlier RFB install on. No bug to see here. Move on. :)

EDIT: I am not sure if these are representative values, I had RFB_2.0_01April09 + latest patch installed, instead RFB 2.0, the official release. The above install game me some weird radar screen bugs. Not sure what were the exact changes in other files, as this was close to the final 2.0 version. I decided not to delete this post, just in case you have some more info about RFB_2.0_01April09 & RFB 2.0
My first contacts with the new Fog: No.1 Time: 13:15 Ship: Medium Old Composite Weather conditions: clear skies / no rain / good visibility / 3m/s wind Crew saw it at ~8NM I saw it at ~9000yd No.2 Time: 12:24 Ship: Old Raked Bow Split Merchant Weather conditions: clear skies / no rain / excellent visibility / 3m/s wind Crew saw it at ~10,7NM I saw it at ~7,5NM (weather deteriorated - wind was 7m/s upon spotting it visually myself) No.3 Time: 15:50 Ship: Medium tanker Weather conditions: partly cloudy / no rain / excellent visibility / 6m/s waves Crew saw it at ~12,6NM I saw it at ~7,0NM This little bugger cost me 6 torpedoes (5 were duds), and over 120 3" shells, most of them hits in the water line... |
I am getting map updates too.

It was user error.
I did not peel enough layers off my download for JSME to install it. Got it working now, with map contacts showing up. THANKS! I do get that crash in the museum, though I only went there to check this. I usually don't spend any time there. |
I think good percentage of mod bug reports (all mods, not just RFB) are due to messed up installs, and I think people using JGSME are to blame.
I never use mod managers, I simply put mods manually in their place - safest way there is. |
I use JSGME, but I only use two mods, RFB and RSRDC, and unistall both before applying new patches. JSGME has a neat snapshot feature so you can take a snapshot of your stock SH4 instal and compare it to your actual game files. Great to figure out if your instal is corrupted.
I have been running RFB 2.0 with the latest patch this weekend and have no issues to report so far. Its a great little mod. I love the attention to detail, like the extra men in the conning tower, going back to the conning tower when exiting the sonar station, most men not wearing caps in the boat, etc. Great work guys. |
Sinkings... OR NOT
Let me tell you the story of the merchant that was also a submarine.
If you prefer to pictures over reading: http://img707.imageshack.us/slidesho...d=17400349.jpg But first, I LOVE YOU ALL, great mod and I am very appreciative that I get to share your work. Having made one mini-mod for HoI2 I KNOW how much work it can be and yours is a GREAT BIG SUPER MOD>>>>>>> :yeah: Now the reason for my post: It's kind of funny but OH SO disappointing - here's why - First campaign in my Type 2b clunker, searching searching for ships in bad weather, after SO long I find a merchant, yay. I ended up firing all 5 torps at this merchant (because first 4 were ALL duds), I'd given up but last one expecting that even if it was not a DUD I'd get no kill. Of course just to mock me it was GOOD. Despite expecting to get robbed I hung around to see if it would go under. LO and behold... I waited many hours underwater (ship had stopped and air patrols kept coming) but then I got what I was waiting for - that sweet music to any submariner - the sounds of metal bulkheads collapsing as down the bytch goes... but then :wah: 24 hours later... no sunk message ... 48 hours later nothing... MY KILL WAS DENIED CREDIT. :damn::wah: WTF. I almost gave my laptop it's first flying lesson. Now it may have something to do with other mods etc I have installed not sure however they're all supposed to play nice together and I read your manual cover to cover yours is the only one that talks about 'delaying ship sunk message as long as possible' so I thought perhaps that was the issue. Either way maybe there was half a smile at my misfortune and for you ;). See the screenies... http://img707.imageshack.us/slidesho...d=17400349.jpg MODS I have installed in this order: RFB 2.0 + patches RSRDC OM + patches OMEGU + patches |

"OMEGU and accompanying mods should "ONLY" be installed on a “stock” SH4 v1.5 after OM v720 or RSRDC v550" |
Who is responsible for the such effect? RFB or RSRDC?
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2028/sh42.th.jpg PS. I use 1) RFB_2.0 with latest patches 2) RSRDC_575 with RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1 |

What is happening on that screen shot? It is way too dark for me to see anything. |

Someone replied they are actually unseen (or barely seen) triggers for some recon mission goals, and I think that is correct. I once torpedoed this ghost ship and strange things happened. I just recommend you leave them alone and use them for what they were intended (apparently) ie, to trigger a "mission complete" goal for recon missions. |
After hit of a torpedo the aircraft carrier reduces speed and cuts a destroyer on two parts. Then both ships move without damages. (Both ships really were present before attack)
PS. Excuse me for a dark screenshot, night was :) |

Thanks for doing that btw. |

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=280 About RFB_WDM_17Jan09, this can only be obtained from RFB FTP server, on which you should ask Luke about. So far it only contains new sinking model for Agano, for testing purposes of the new warship damage model. So you're not missing much. |
