Naw, I got a little Kioti. Besides it is too far to travel for a little driveway like that.

The country is preparing for ''the storm of the century''.
Schools are closed tomorrow, half my friends have a day off from work and trucks are prevented from entering the country. A meter of snow is expected. Things are serious for something we get every year :hmmm:

Hummmph! The storm of the century was supposed to hit Boston and New York, it fizzled out. Sure they got some snow, but nowheres near what they were expecting. Maybe you will get lucky like that, too.

The coldest I can remember seeing it here came in a February many years ago. Not this year. Today we're looking at a balmy 64F/18C, with a low of around 40/4. Not bad at all. :sunny:

I have become a silent witness to a white apocalypse.
A front row seat to the worlds descent into silence....

Just kidding. The storm of the century brought in about 1cm of snow
It seems the warnings and truck blockades were because of the wind, which did fell a few trees trough out the country and maybe threw some bricks off the roof.
But you know, the media had to sell us a snowy end of the world.

swamprat69er 02-06-15 07:27 AM

The second biggest bunch of liars is the media.

Betonov 02-06-15 07:35 AM

Well, they were right for half of the country :-?

The internet site, where one can see all the emergencies, has the southern part of the country lit like a christmas tree. Strong winds probably fell a tree nearly at every house. And trucks are being pulled off the road now to wait it out. Those that aren't already stuck.

Here in the Alps it's cold, windy and not snowy

swamprat69er 02-06-15 07:49 AM

We got a couple of inches of snow overnight and there are 2-3" more coming today and tomorrow morning. The temperature is 8F, a little warmer than it was yesterday morning at this time (-26F).

Another storm here in Atlantic Canada. And it's cold. -14°C with wind chill of -26. Ah the Great White North .....:nope:

How much snow have you got in total?

swamprat69er 02-06-15 07:57 AM

The Big Smoke/Hog Town/Toronto is bracing for another dumping. YESSSSSSSSS! I love it when they get dumped on, as long as I can stay up here in the North.

City of Charlottetown has 100 cm of accumulated snow. Normal would be 22cm. Two weeks ago there was no snow on the ground. None. The city is a mess. I live across the river in Stratford where it's not much better. The problem in the city is a lot of narrow one way streets and parking is non existent. Before this storm they announced a 48 hour overnight parking ban to help with the clean up. Nobody is happy about that.

Wife is talking about going to work at noon. I'll be taking her, but I will have to see a plow first.
