I just saw Dowly log on and play as I was clicking buy. And I see Arclight playing now... I have unkind words for the two of you! As I wait the 4ish hours for it to download...:rotfl2:

Those bastards in Riverwood murdered me! And all I did was try to fry that damned chicken running around the streets...

I just wish they'd make it possible to increase the mouse sensitivity even more, the maximum is way too low for my liking.

Go into options and click OFF enable xbox controller. I actually moved my sensitivity slider to about middle after that as it gave me alot more movement!!!

Dowly 11-11-11 08:40 AM

The in-game settings for mouse sensitivity are utter BS. Way too slow for me.

But you can change it manually from (my)documents/my games/skyrim/SkyrimPrefs.ini

Search for the line: fMouseHeadingSensitivity

With the in-game slider on full, it's at 0.0500, changed it to 0.1000 and is much better now. :yeah:

Raptor1 11-11-11 08:51 AM

Ah, much better. Thanks.

I shot Falkearths(sp) goat thinking it was a deer. They weren't pleased. :haha:

I love the little details of the game, such as the ambient bugs(insect kind), I found a bee hive swarming with bees, and it sounded like they were stinging me.

It is rather billiant. Two most obvious things I spotted were animations for diagonal movement and doors opening, quite nice.

And that menu is fine, just use the keyboard; WASD to move cursor, E selects and TAB exits. Much better than dragging a mouse around imho, saves you RSI.

Before I figured that, I had like 2 occasions where the menu closed though I didn't actually click the exit option (pretty close to it though). Pretty minor stuff.

Also, 1,3 and 4 on here are highly recommended: http://www.gamefront.com/how-to-impr...i-file-tweaks/

Extra shadows will tax yer card a bit more though. Running high preset with 'reflect sky' on, x4 AA x16 AF, 1680x1050. Runs rather brilliantly on GTX460, didn't even bother with my usual overclock. Ultra has some weird lagging issue sometimes (#2 on that list I linked might actually fix that), but it was perfectly playable. Good engine, great performance.

* oh right: fish and dragonflies. I literally stopped and gawked for a moment. Weird no other games have really done it, so simple. And salmon (or whatever) jumping up a small waterfall, lovely.

Can't wait. Installed from the disk and it's just updating as I write. Football and Skyrim: my weekend in three words.

I went into HMV here to buy it and they had no copies for the PC at all. HMV is awful for PC games nowadays, though, and the big one in town rarely has any new PC releases at all anymore. Got a copy in Game which I wouldn't have normally done but I wanted a hard copy of it. The map it comes from is very nice.

I haven't even played it yet. Just went back into my Football Manager game instead but got beaten by Napoli due to a cheating ref...:damn: So i'm off for a wonde around Skyrim now instead.

Egan 11-11-11 01:36 PM

Character creation was nice. My Imperial (I always play an Imperial on my first run through of a TES game for some reason,) actually looks like a class one hard-ass...

Um.....Spoilers.....

So maybe I'm being really dumb but I'm right at the start and I have no idea where I'm supposed to go. What way is the keep?:D

Grab some of them, and munch away, always fun.

Which Keep?

So, are you guys loyal to the Empire, or to Skyrim?

I have to say the smithing mechanic is very well done. I've collected a fair amount of iron ore, which I smelted into Iron Ingots, throw in 171 for a bar of Con...(Can't remember the name) ore, and I had myself a nice Bounded Iron Armor piece. Saved me 677 gold. On top of that I've made a fine iron helmet, a superior ancient bow, a superior steel axe, and a fine bounded iron shield.
