Still, it was a better match than the one I've just listened to... :nope: I expect there will be a bit of Ferguson hair dryer action in the dressing room right now. Not damn enough of it though. |
The best part of the game, was reading the texts ppl were sending on ITV:har:

Go back in the thread and you'll see my reference to 'overpaid under achievers'. We are used to it....they are all multi millionaires at club level but can't achieve at international level. |

I don't think England played badly, Algeria played on the upper reaches of their game and were thus able to deny England the full points haul. These preliminary round games are often really boring and teams are just being strategic and stuff. The real games start later with the extra-time / penalty shootout - games.

What's been happening with the big teams, Brazil seemed to struggle in the first half against the DPRK (of all people) before rallying around in the second to score. France is just useless, Germany seems to have stumbled in the latest match. I mean, the last time I followed the World Cup as closely as this (France '98 I think) the giants were Brazil, Germany, and France really. And Capello hiding behind a translator...please, throw him out. :damn: |

Boring match in all regards.
I'm favouring Argentine, and the Netherlands. Question marks behind Brazil and Germany. France and England already scrapped off my list - they are not one team each, but each of them is eleven teams on the field. And Spain - I have not seen the match, but they had a bad start, too. Can't say. Italy and Portugal seem to be just shadows of their former selfs. To me, Mexico has been the greatest positive surprise so far, beside the German mauling of Australia. And Switzerland was a surprise to me, too. |
