I don't believe you had any mysogynistic intent - far from it.
However... given the world in which we live and the paradigms that still govern a good deal of it, when someone makes a joke about turning a "no" into something else by means of physical assault, the genders involved don't really need to be identified for the implication to be there in the mind of almost any woman who encounters it.
On one level I can appreciate the humor of it. But females live with the reality of how easily that kind of attitude can be taken to a very ugly place, and of how often it happens, in a way and to a degree that most men don't.
I'm pretty easy-going about most "battle of the sexes" stuff, because I like a good "men are idiots" joke as much as the next gal, lol. I'm not one to go off on a long rant about Women's Issues or offer an unsolicited course on Feminism 101, but there are times when I will try to turn something on its head to make a point in a way that (I hope) can be taken as no more or less good-natured than whatever prompted it.
So, in conclusion, no offense taken on a personal level, just me singing one off-key chorus of "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar" on behalf of my XX-chromosomed peeps. :sunny: |
