Hi Guys and Girls,
My name is Kev, i'm 28 and live in Stoke on Trent in the UK. (this is sounding like an intro from blind date). I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2008 with a degree in Network Computing and have been working for Stoke on Trent City Council ever since as a network consultant. Unfortunately my contract recently came to an end and i am now unemployed. I have been gaming for as long as i can remember, starting with the old side scrollers and eventually moving onto online games such as Duke Nukem 3D. I eventually moved onto games such as CounterStrike, Call of Duty etc, but as i aged i found a love for Sims, especially sub sims :D I spend my spare time when not on the pc playing Airsoft or reading. A pic of me airsofting (luckily i didnt break the camera): http://i44.tinypic.com/zlsvoj.jpg |

G'day,my name is John, been gaming since_well long long time.Ex Aussie Armoured Corp. When I joined up "Centurian" was'nt a Tank, it was a rank:haha:.Just love subsims been at it since silent Service, sh2, sh3.Joined this forum last year, but have been following threads for years. Brought Sh5 on release, and_ well not impressed, having said that it is now with the help of the modding community and a little input from UBI, the best subsim around and it will get better. Enough said.My log in_Cpt.Spalding is a reference to the great Groucho Marx.:yeah:
The World would not be in such a snarl, if Marx had been Groucho, instead of Karl.:rotfl2: |
Hooray for Captain Spalding, the African explorer! "Did someone call me snorer?" Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

Privet iz Moskvy!
Hi from Moscow! I've been addicted to subsim since I first picked up a Russian pirated copy of SH2 off a street trader some years ago in Moscow. Much later I got my hands on the genuine article as well as copies of SH3 and SH4 in English/German whilst on a flying visit to the UK. Then I discovered this site together with all the wonderful mods that many people far more talented than I have worked hard to put together. SH3 is by far my favourite subsim, but I have been absent from the forum for a long time now because of incompatibility problems after having invested in a new PC with Windows 7 OS last December. Hopefully, I have managed to crack the problems that have been bugging me for several months and my return to sanity has been mostly due to the great help that this community provides. Yesterday I bought SH5. It's a Russian version, of course, which I don't really like: I always play Silent Hunter with maximum total immersion effect, and that means that Deutsche Seeleute must speak German. There is no change-language feature on SH5 and I should like to know if the English language version of this game has a German option as does SH3. As regards downloading a German version of SH5, I believe that the game has been withdrawn because of the presence of swastikas in the graphics. Whatever! So far, I cannot pass a considered judgement on SH5, but my first impressions are not too good: I much prefer my heavily modded SH3, which I play with GWX Gold or WAC or NYGM. I just hope that those gifted members of this community will soon provide mods that will bring the standard of SH5 up to the level to which I have become accustomed to playing with SH3. As regards myself, I am English. I come from Lancashire in the Northwest of England and I am 61 years old. I worked in my home county as a coal miner before moving to Germany in search of work in 1985. After that I wandered around a while before finally dropping anchor in Russia. During my wandering years, I also found time to graduate in German and Russian in 1991, having studied both in Germany and the USSR. In effect, I emigrated to Russia 15 years ago. I say "emigrated" because, although I still hold a British passsport, I very seldom go back to my homeland. I am married to a Muscovite and have three children, all born in Moscow, the youngest seeing the first light of day just under two years ago. Look forward to seeing how SH5 will develop in the not too distant future. I should have liked to enclose a picture of myself but I cannot fathom out how. |
Welcome aboard to you both http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...es/welcome.gif
