When it comes to real life physics recreation in this game it is not an easy task and it is very time consuming teaching the game new ways to think and apply these physics to work properly in the actual game play.

But if the Dev's did not give the game those capabilities in the first place it would never have happend at all. Just hard to see through and over write what was originaly set up and finding a way to change the original game design without the programs they actualy used.

This lightning will look better than this soon because kapitan cur ze created some new tga files for the lightning.

Once this is final, could we pack all these nifty little mods into one big graphics mod (i.e. Small Plants/rocks, visibility, LBO, realistic ocean look, realistic shoreline textures & vegetation, lightning brought back etc)?

Not yet. I think Leo is taking care that all is as it should be before an official release. I am sure he would be more then willing to send you the "test" file but.

and switch.dota I am working with kriller2 to see if he is willing to do just that for everyone as his latest vs of the harbor and tree's visual's already has a lot of it incorporated just not the latest vs of LBO yet.

When I release this there will be a stand alone vs for the people who are worried about FPS drops on slower machine's
And one with everything incorporated into the scene file that people used for their mods.

Like 9km visability
30m under water visability
All the lightning effects
Better funnel smoke for the ships
slow smoke mod
and some new smoke work for burning ships

Plus a seperate file that will have all the DDS and TGA images to make it all work right for the people who want to make the changes manualy for LBO.

I will list all the credits in the read me file and on the first page of this thread because needless to say there are a lot of people who make up the added mod's that go with the new work and images that will be used.

And to let you know so far all of my testers said there is no more jelly ocean effects so that is a good sign that I got every thing covered in the rework.

Wow Leo! I think i'm more excited about this being released than I was for the actual game!

Looks amazing and if it's anything like the last, we're in for a treat. Thanks to all involved, can't wait! :)

The modders for SH4 are going from strength to strength :rock:

Hey Leo, quick question. In the above screenshots (the latest ones with the awesome lightning effects), I could not help but notice the rain doesn't obscure all view like some demonic intervention. Is this due to changes you have made to the rain youself, a mod you are using, or is it merely a light rainfall in-game?
