I thought you were referring to the final scoreline.

L'Equipe reports, after a lot of ups and downs over this deal, that Newcastle's new bid to sign Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is worth a total of €52m -- an initial €42m, plus €10m in add-ons.Sources have told ESPN that Guimaraes has been offered four times his Lyon wages at Newcastle, and the move would see him earn £120,000-a-week.
Well now, can't let it burn a hole in the pocket. The window's almost closed. Better spend it quick. And Shelvey's on 70k a week right? So 120 a week for this one might not seem so outrageous. By the way, it's a four-fold pay rise over his current deal. Now let's see if he can be tempted to Tyneside. |
The money numbers being splashed about by the media are insane, whether accurate or not but I'm getting the impression the arabs aren't going to let anyone pull their trousers down.
Especially the hierarchy at Old Trafford, if reports regarding Lingard are accurate. |
Another 5 million and it's over the line and you got your man. Lavish :)
|
Just got Burn from Brighton for £13 million today.
|
Will this have a positive effect on the rest of the football team ?
I hope so Markus |
As long as he is better than what we already have,,,,then yes.
|
Reims accept new improved offer for striker Hugo Ekitike. He becomes only the fourth player in Premier League history to have a palindrome surname.
|
Forget the above, the deal has broken down.
|
Toon ranks are swelling. Matt Target too eh?
Too bad about the palindrome dude. What an interesting bit of trivia. Thanks for that. |
Aye, we've had a great transfer window and spent more than Fatty did in fourteen years of January windows.
We now need them to gel together as a team and hopefully avoid relegation. |
I never would have thought I'd type this but....
Newcastle are the window's biggest spenders! It must feel like you're stoned. |
One can only imagine what the summer window will be like in comparison.
|
Heady times indeed. Now you've got to avoid the drop.
Newcastle had a good window it must be said, but I would have wanted a signing or two on the offensive side. They got Wood, yeah, who should score a fair few. By the way, Burnley turned around and spent 15m of the Wood bonanza on Wolfsburg's Wout Weghorst, another towering target man, who is probably at least as good, a little younger and even taller. No knock on Newcastle, but this was well played by Burnley who didn't want to lose Chris Wood, but turned it around deftly, and if Weghorst settles quickly, might have gotten better and made some money along the way. Still, Newcastle were shrewd to shore up the defensive side of the ball. They're a better side now, and should be much tighter at the back. Not flashy, but should be effective. Guimaraes is the signature statement signing. He may have come for the wrong reasons (oil-soaked cash fountains), but there's no doubt this is a quality player. He's a ball-winner with an eye for a pass and if he settles and doesn't hate the weather up there he should be a star in this league. Anything can happen, but if Toon stay healthy, I think they've done enough here to stay up. Just gotta find some goals. |
Aye, another striker would have been the icing on the cake but I'll run with what we got....five more than we would have under Fatties ownership.
Looks like the Cabbage is in advanced talks with West Brom. I bet Carroll won't be all that happy. |
