I'm insisting on nothing, but surely you have had the same thoughts, no?

The new owner is going crazy, he said to his financial advisors, what the F is this? I told you I wanted a new castle!!!

Apologies, I didn't word that very well. It was meant to be more of a generalisation/blanket term for 'why are some people'

Threadfin 10-09-21 08:27 AM

No need to apologize, I didn't take it personally, and I don't care to rain on the brightest day for Newcastle supporters in ages, but I think the reasons are self-evident why it is considered questionable by some.

Not everyone seems to be happy about it.

Newcastle United has sold its name and reputation to a brutal government run by a brutal ruler, the organisation founded by the murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi warned on Thursday night, after the football club was taken over by a Saudi Arabia-led consortium.

Should have read it more clearly and written my comment differently.

I think it would be fun to play

"Who's signing for Newcastle" now that they have a 190m war chest.

Mbappe, Haaland and maybe Dembele from Barca?

Koulibaly seems set to arrive in January by reports.

Who else? We have a couple months to really sort this out.

Jimbuna 10-12-21 05:17 AM

Looking on the net it appears that everyone is coming but that is only to be expected under the current circumstances.

ATM I'm more interested in who is going to replace the cabbage.

I toke the liberty to copy following comment on Newcastle United FB-page.

"
Newcastle deserve it for sure with all the years of suffering under ashley .
But also its a sad world when the football game nowadays is all about money.
Its not like the era of king Kev when basically every team in the league had a reasonable chance of winning the league and all had the same ammount of good players. Look at all the big star players now wanting to come and play as newcastle now have a huge ammount of money and investment. Its a shame they couldnt and didnt want to play for the toon before hand .
Shame stavely and the board didnt keep the players we have and put there wages up just out of principle .
"

(did not correct any misspelling)

Football is no longer the sport of the working class man.

Those players that come in the next transfer wi9ndow are nothing more than mercenaries....money talks loudest.

Yes, indeed. With endless resources the world is Newcastle's oyster, isn't it?

New owners often feel compelled to make the biggest splash they can. So it will be a big name, but perhaps not made in management.

It's all very interesting, and I'm eager to see how Newcastle navigate their newfound riches.

Money itself will not fix everything, and they'll need to overcome their lack of European football and their unfancied location to recruit top talent. This will take time, but if they are measured and shrewd it could see them return to the top of English football. If they try to get too big too fast it could backfire. Money is both the cause of, and the solution to, a host of problems :)

They did so four weeks ago, and have since won 2-nil and 2-1. Is 1-0 your favorite scoreline or something?

Is there some cryptic meaning in this post?
