Ummm we fixed it.

But of course. Pretty much the only good thing to come out of WW1.

Well, there was "All Quiet on the Western Front." ;)

That Wilfred Owen poem has to be one of the all-time best war poems. Though I also like "Death of the Ball Turrent Gunner" by Randall Jarrell.

Kudos!

You know, I *still* remember studying Dulce et Decorum Est in primary school near 30 years ago. It is perhaps my favourite poem.

Same here only it was about... oh lemme think... 2 and a half years ago? Maybe? Grade 12 Literature class. I love war poetry just for the very simple, sober approach and the very jagged real imagery. Terrible irony how beautiful poetry comes from the most terrible of wars.

EDIT. and to SUbConscious kudos on the kid! Hopes its a boy so that by the time he's 12 you can play SIlent Hunter 13 with him.

I'ts Not very good hearing that poem with about 34 guys singing it at the top of their lungs on a C-130 when It's your "cherry jump":x

yeah that would screw with your head, which was probably the point of singing that song at the particualr moment you describe.

Since im on a morbid kick right now:

Thanks! No periscopes on either of the offspring. My 2 1/2 year old loves the foam cutlasses I bought her though. If you can imagine a very pretty (not that I'm biased) little girl of about 27 pounds, 34 inches tall brandishing a cutlass almost as long as she is tall, striking a dramatic pose and yelling at the top of her lungs "TA HA!!!" before smacking her old man repeatedly with said weapon, you can imagine why I'm just tickled to have another girl.

Very cool! Congrats SubConscious!

In other news... and to tell you how deep much of our research goes into the GWX campaign... a little quote snippet from our documentarian....

"I am also in a process of accessing some data about the movements of the ship in WWII. I have to get permission from the office of Public Relations of the Pentagon. Technically. the ship is still on active status...

Here's a pic. You already have permission. It's from me. If you want to make an appendix with additional pics of ships that cannot fit into the main chapters, here's one."

No I'm not going to show you the pic...

P_Funk 11-03-06 01:26 AM

Wow you guys really have a plan or at least the semblance of one. Its obvious that the marketing campaign is in full swing.

I would love to see a screenie. That last one of the dock was tres cool.

Question: Can beta testers post images of GWX? Or is it only pleasant words that we can tantalize the community with?

Kpt. Lehmann 11-03-06 01:28 AM

Depends... details will be covered with the beta testers next week. Very likely mostly text...

There are a few brand new things that we haven't breathed a word about yet.

The big guns will fire soon enough.
