Hello and hope I may introduce myself,

as far as I am concerned, the best collection of songs and melodies from that period of time, and in different versions, can be found here, already in .mp3 data format:

Happy new year

Thank you, but I think you'll find there are already a few tracks from that site included in the packs.

Thank you

Thank you for that. I am going to DL your packs. It is not that easy in Germany to get historically correct things for some reasons.

Happy new year @ all

great marches I never heard of in there, just great!!

thx for adding more unknown (to me) music to my grammophone.

(every time I hear the "U-Boot Lied Version1" it gives me shivers and goose-bumps. even if the refrain is:
"jaaaagen Eeeeengland, Eeeeengland in den Tod"
"hunting England into death" - sry for that, Jimbuna  )

Er... I just finished printing out the lyrics in German so I can sing along.

Although TBH I like the other Ubootlied ("Heeeeiiiimat, so weit von hier...") better. Great beat, kicky horns, easy to dance to... I give it a 10!

was it really composed to be danced to? :D:03:

:rotfl2:

I doubt it. Unless you count the "goose step" as a dance, and I don't think the Kriegsmarine was too big on that one anyway. :O:

speaking about wet eyes:
what do you think about Sven Olaf Sandberg's "Unter der roten Laterne von St. Pauli" ??

heute nacht, heute nacht, geht der traum meines lebens zu ende ......
tonight, tonight, my life's dream has come to an end .....
