Yes my friend, I still have the problem with the 3Finger.
I only have to be careful that I do not exaggerate.
Otherwise I get hurt. :-?

Pipe?

Hi Tomi.

What way did you run this pipe (Green pipe - Red Arrow) to the bow or the stern of the boat?

Thanks, Simon.

Sorry, I must correct myself.
This pipe goes round down to the other, and on the tank.
It is a green pipe

Sad news

My engine is approximately 108 mm (real world) to small or 2.5 mm on my drawing at 1:43 scale. Will have to fix that tomorrow :DL Can not have the engine drawing 2.5 mm too small :03:

Scale 1:43

Hi Tomi

Not sure how you scale your engine with rest of the U-boat, but here how I did it :DL

The U-Boat ribbings through the engine room are space 600 mm. I have set up my U-boat drawing to be 100% correct for all the ribbings and frames base on real German U-Boat measurements (You got to love 1/1000 of an mm drawing precision software :DL). All my measurements for my drawings are base on the ribbings and frames! I needed a way to scale the engine with the ribbings and frames. This morning I found a way to do this.

I found on the Engine plans two pipe outlets (Fig. 1) and I found these pipes outlets on a U-boat plan (Fig. 2). All I had to do was match the width of these pipes outlets with the Lightening holes between the ribbings.

Gute Arbeit !!

Good work my friend.
When it comes to the Corel Graphics Phaint Shop Pro Photo XI is a very good Program,

it has a good future, as can convert pdf format into Jpg.
Scaling an image is not a problem.

Good work my friend,
it is important and very good to see how the pipes run.
I have often spent hours to figure out how to pipes goas .
Is just a pity that we have so little drawings and have to imagine things.

Gute Arbeit mein Freund .

Pipe System

Hi Tomi

After spending 4 hours looking at piping plans :know: I have work out the pipe layout for the two outlet pipe from the engine.

The outlets (Green arrows) flow (Red arrows) to the value and out into the two tanks (Orange arrows)

valve

Hi Tomi

If you look at the
Plate 14A: Engine lubricating oil system, the valve symbol look like there is only one valve with a handle, the second valve is control by the first.

Simon

Update: Now I am not to sure what do you think Tomi?

Tomi_099 11-06-09 05:30 AM

Hmm ??

Danke mein freund. Sehr gute Arbeit hast du gemacht!!

Yes you are right, but the tube just on the opposite side.
There, the oil storage tank 2 ( Motorölvorratstank2 )is labeled

Left to the image I see where the gon, you could also show the right side?
This is the small pipe shown here.

Thank you my friend. Very good work have you done!
